This pertains to the politician profession more than any other i suppose.

I find it ridiculous that Street lights count as 1 lot each towards the citys plot limit.

a size 5 city can have what?,,30 lots?, now a size 5 is a big city..take of the usuals,Cloning centre, Bank, Shuttleport..trying toplan a city with the remaining lots is pathetic.

Streetlights in particular imo need to be about 30 metres apart maybe a max of 40. Now i am part of the town of Asylum, wanting to do my bit i worked out i would need 30 streetlights just to cover both sides of the streets where only our guildies were resident..there were only 15 available as it stood as i think at present there are 4 pa's in the town and various unguilded players with most of the pa halls having 2 or 3 things outside them.

Sorry but there is no way in heck that you can turn a collection of houses into a city with ALL the city amenities with so few lots

Maybe if the devs worked out how to let us place items outside the four walls of our houses we could use our patios and the item would count towards the house limit...but until then im gobsmacked at the ridiculousness of the situation.
