It seems a bit harsh that only half the cities on planets will be allowed shuttleports especially now that the first half is 5 weeks ahead,as well as the majority existing shuttleports seem to be clumped together in urban blight. Now I know this only really applies to new comer cities, but we feel genuinely screwed, it would be niceperhaps if shuttleportwouldbe placeable to teir III or teir II,. Even with the advent of vehicles, a shuttle is really the only structure any city needs... Especially for us wilderness folks. I'd be willing to pay extra weekly maintenance just to have one. Perhaps make it so structure maintenance would be based on city cize? outpost shuttle 200k - metropolis shuttle 25k. Or even allow mayors topick between perks you can have with your city, leaving the larger cities with a wider variety, and the smaller cities with only a few. (yet all available, and with differentcivic lot costs)IMHO it could be a much better system than the disturbingly arbitrary tier cap numbers.

Restricting the number of shuttleports keeps the shuttle system running smoothly. Frankly, even ten new entries on the travel terminal tends to confuse things somewhat.

Plus, it establishes the need for cities to maintain their citizenship.Badly-planned, mismanagedor griefing cities will slowly decline and lose citizens, giving the smaller cities a chance to take their place once the bad city's rank drops.

It's a good system, I think.

but all 10 of the existing cities on core planets already have it. I'm more disgrunted that the second run of cities got 5 weeks behind in the process. Even if a new city has 80 citizens, the best thing it will ever get is tier III no matter how well organized it is.

I have some thought on this.. granted there were few who say "I want my own.. my precious" oh wait.. wrong movie... and game.. (but still same concept)

Our city is on tier IV.. been tier IV for 2 weeks now we didn't grow to 5.,. but maintain tier IV... not too shabby.. luckily we have a good mayor who is not going disgruntle (I hope) and well.. if he did.. we might have to move to another city (since starting new might not be worth it..) who knows...

There is a chance that other cities might fall... (due to disgruntle mayor or "a plant" to destroy the hall when winning the election) to set up their own.. it can happen.. since the Devs allow it.

Since your on Starsider, if you look at the three main planets you'll notice that when buying a ticket for a shuttle, 10 player cities' shuttleports don'tcome up. So even after almost 6 weeks since the last publish there are still a couple of cities that haven't been able to raise the amount of citizens they need to place a shuttleport. Plus, overtime certain cities will fall or certain politicians will destroy their hall when faced with removal so you have a pretty good chance of actually reaching lvl 4 over the next 4 weeks.

here's another thing you may want to think about... It may sound harsh on my part but don't take it as such...

there where too many cities prepatch as it stands... it is very difficult for even the original cities to maintain and will be even more difficult for those cities to continue to maintain their citizenry as more cities are added and more choices given to them...

that coupled with the fact that the new cities also came at a great cost to the original cities... I didn't have my city anywhere near maxed but will have to lose nearly half of my structures just to keep from paying riddiculous penalties on my cities.

no don't complain... what I see this doing right now is many more smaller cities with much more specialized infrastructures.

Those who actually get to class 3 under the new system may not grow much from there, and with the exception of large PA run cities, class 5 cities will become a thing of the past. So limiting the number of cities that will get to certain levels will lot really impede much... the server population is not enough to sustain this many cities at huge levels
