I dont think a Mayor should even be able to control who moves in and who doesnt. Not his place.

His palce should be to decide what can go where, not who can join and who cant.

If you know they've left the game send out an email too all your citizens that your adjusting property tax. Sky rocket it make sure everyone has maitence paid up. Those individuals who have not signed on will have that 70k maitence eaten through very quickly at say 1000% property tax. You can refund everyone the money afterwards by taking it out of the treasury and /tiping them. The houses you wish not to be there will decay and be removed.

I think we should be at least able to find out who owns something. That way we could deal with them. With the mystery of who owns strucutures it is very hard for a mayor to try diplomacy.

I don't think we will ever get a condem. Too much potential for griefing.

I do think we should get the ability to drop zoning footprints for strucutres. A mayor runs around and drops footprints of the structures where he wants them. So I can place footprints of tons of small or medium houses. When I grant zoning rights to an individual, they can only place the structure on a placed footprint. Not wherever they want.

You can only raise taxes to 50%...its not going to speed it up by that much.

After a week period have the house destroyed, unless the person (who will be emailed) comes and picks it up).

We have several people who setup a small house, dumped like 70k into it (like 70 days of maint) and quit the game. So now, our entire city is disarray cause right in the path of our layout we have 4 hours that will finally decay/disappear in 70 days. Untill then we can't do much. Why don't mayors have the ability to remove objects from a city is some fashion?

I've also heard of a grief used, Guild A moves into City B with guilds D E, A find out that D E are dorks (or so they think) and decide, the ultimate grief, leave city, go find a new one, but leave your house where it is as a "#$%#$%#$ you"

A lot of cities were tossed together due to the 24 hour limit, ours was, we just had people toss down, close to city hall to get it done. Now that we have range, we want to actually set our city up, But as stated, we have a crap load of stuff in the way from players who no longer play.

well... I have propose this also.. but on the flip side they (SOE) don't want to give the mayor power to "destroy" other's building (players that are not their own)

there was a post about having the citizen (boot them out) but that was not feasible either..

what about the content of the home? will that also be destroy? what if the player comes back 2 months later and find their million dollar comp suit gone due to the "city kick him out"

there is no easy way to work around this

So the whole cities sufers because of 1 or 2 people?

So people suggested, well move your city. No, we picked this spot for a reason.

Someone else suggest it was our fault for letting another guild into the city, Once again, we teamed up, to bring a more SW feel to the city, and have multiple guilds, and therefore more people, and amore active city, once again, it's part of the game. I really think there should be a way to deal with this.

Give people 2 weeks, to pack up and move out or, oh well sorry. Most people I know who are dropping out of the game for 3-4 months till it gets better, put all of there stuff in the bank.

Your right, there is no easy way but, it's pretty bad how it is now.

So we sit around, looking out our craptacular looking city, hoping, maybe this week the houses will go away, and they won't put more money in them.

I know your pain.. there are two harvestors at the edge of our town (rebels insignia) that is there just cause.. nothing good to mind around there.. just two harvestors) we can't do a thing about it... and it is on top of a hill (overlooking the city) where we could build a couple of nice med/large home there

ah well.. (it was still there last time I check.. they might have move it by now who knows.. our mayor did email them)

but I know your pain.. I guess if they use the UO system.. as in.. put everything into a packing crate and store in a bank (even over the item limit) and redeed their house and place it in their inventory (over the item limit)

Look at real life...

You're the Mayor of a City, not a Landlord of some tennants. These people have purchased the houses, they have taken ownership of the land (via /Grant or via open building or via foresight as you expanded to include them) ... they're citizens and you have to deal with them.
