With regard to the proposedcity inactivity change...

Well, a couple of weeks have gone by, BJ has passed on our thoughts to the PR guy and the patch is busy downloading...

Have we had any "official" response to this debate whatsoever? I see nothing has changed in the current patch notes, which suggests the 3/6 week deadline will be live within a day or two.

Regardless of the outcome, you might have hoped that:

a) Given the overwhelming opposition and negligible gain, the idea would at least have been put on hold.

b) Given that mayors effectively speak for dozens of players in their cities, and that a great many mayors posted long and thoughtful responses, someone "official" might have the courtesy to respond.

Even a quick line from a dev saying "tough luck, we're going ahead regardless" would be better than hearing nothing!

Unless, of course, I've missed this well-hidden response.

Yours hopefully,

Skarra, Master Architect

Its a shame we havent had responses to anything at all for some time now, infact the only response we have had is "give me ten quick questions to tide you over until your top 5 have been dealt with"

something would be nice.

You have to wonder if they realy care anyway, i mean...

They have their "Feature", player cities, to use in their sales pitch.

They have a bunch of characters with alot of skill points tied up that gain the character nothing at all, and who dont even get a realistic way to get out of the job.

The have players (Mayors) generating their content for them.

They have the HUGE money sink that they wanted (A lareg garden is 30K a week.... get real!)... My own city is 625K a week, thats for what I consider a mediocre level of dacoration etc.

Politician is the worst profession to get xp in, the most worthless for the character doing it, and has the least utility (repeat use) of any skills in the game.

While I love building the City of Asylum, frankly we could do 95% of that building with zero skill points.

This class needs some serious love, more and more Mayors are just dropping all the skills after their town is built. It's going the same way as theMerchant class.

The Architects want to know too. Please add to the threads in "Core Systems" and "In Testing" so we can bring this to the table prior to the patch.

Let me tell you this, we absolutely LOVE our jobs. And we LOVE this game. We are dedicated to doing whatever we can to enhance your play experience. And it usually only takes one fan's blood to drift off...

what scares me is that... merchant class finally are getting tweak... they are going to make it skill relate.. no skill.. no merchant.. so if don't have vendor skill tree.. better not have more than 2 vendors...

They cannot do this to Politician tree.. if they did.. novice politician will never have a chance.. since right now.. civic dont' go poof when changing politician..... right now merchant don't go poof.. but WILL go poof when the merchant patch goes live.

From the official patch notes regarding Player Cities:

Player Cities
• Player city clone facilities are no longer considered for "respawn closest". Only static NPC clone facilities are now considered "respawn closest". Players can still clone at a civic clone facility if they have stored their clone information there.

• There is now an option on the city management terminal that allows you to revoke your citizenship at any time.

• Citizens will now be removed from a city if they haven't been online for about 6 weeks.

• Fixed an issue with mayors getting 100 points of xp less than they should have on city updates.

• You can no longer deploy a camp in a player city.

• Fixed a problem where Player Cities level 4 were not updating to level 5

So, to answer the question, they are going with 6 weeks now instead of 3.
