Thread: Any starting advice?

Im thinking of becomming a politician, but know nothing about really starting it or how much work is involved. Can anyone point out any good guides for this? Is this something u have to depend on others to achieve or can it be done solo?

You are totally and I mean TOTALLY dependant on others to advance. You need to be mayor of a city or at least a candidate for mayor. Every vote you receive in the weekly election for that city gives you 100xp points, and thats it. No easy route, no quick grinds, votes or nothing. Im fairly new to the profession myself and i'd seriously advice you thing long and hard about whether you really want to devote those skill points before you take this step. I only do it because me and my friends really desperately wanted our own city. If its not that important to you then the frustrations will quickly outweigh the tiny benefits, and once you are in its VERY hard to get out again without destroying the city you are mayor of.

Well one, Cities cost a lot of money to maintain and keep going.
In order to start a city, you are going to need a guild or a good group of friends to get it going. I would look at Lok or Talus as Starting locations. Once it is established and past your first 24 hour growth cycle, send the guild/friends out recruiting. Your best chance is finding new players that will fit in with your group to start boosting your population (Most the established players are already in cities) This is where you as The Mayor will become important. You are going to be spending lot of time helping everyone out to get to their goals in the game. Basicly becoming friends with everyone and matching people up that can help one another. If you are willing to take this on, you will end up with a pretty good city.
