Thread: City Growth Greifing
Yes, other players can do this to your town and its considered "legal".
Yes, there are ways to counter the move.
I've had way too much experience with this tactic, send me a PM if you'd like more info.

I have the layout of my city planned far into the future, in fact I have already drawn a map of it as a metropolis.
We are currently at rank two.
There are currently a few heavy harvestors where I want to place the shuttleport...we're currently rank two so thats not an issue, for now. Which made me think...
I was wondering, if a neigboring city wanted to greif me, they could surround my city with structures...like little personal harvestors or something, to prevent me from growing outward...right?
That would really suck, they could probably afford the maintenance on theses structures indefinetly, correct?
What could anyone do to prevent this from happening? I'm thinking, pre-emptive strike and place my own future, "place holders".
What do you guys think?
personals would not box you in much at all theyhave a small foot print, but mediums and heavies do. We palced our city when they first came out and our way of protecting that was to have everyone involved place heavy harvestors around the city outskirts for planned expansion and when we expanded we yanked them down to replce them with structures. AS your city expands you can kind of force thehand of harvestors and their removal failry easy. Just jack the tax way up for housing to the max usually this will burn up harvestors in a few days.
When in doubt think like a Dictator! after all who else will get it done for you?
