I have a few ideas I Thought I Would throw out there. someone may have already suggested these if so Theuy have my support, If not hurray for my originality . The main problems Ive seen with most cities are recruitment , funds and leadership.

Being mayor is almost like a real fulltime job with no benefits. In the real world this is not true. Every mayor in real life is paid a Salary of some sorts. and No city relies soley on property taxes for funds.

My Idea

1. To support and bind cities to the cause of either the Rebellion or the Empire Placing mission terminals for either side should pay the city a weekly bonus , but placing both would negate the bonus.

2. Declare your city for one side or the other for more Goverment Grants.

3. The funds the parking garage collects should be taxable and a percentage goes to the city.

4. Mayors should recieve a salary based upon number of active players in the city that week. I say active because of potential for lot swap would make this abused.

5.Cities could gain more goverment money by sending out taskforces to do city missions . Large missions factionally based and would pay money to the city . Would require 3 or more people and new mission terminals perhaps a reward for declaring the citys faction .

You dont have to make cities rich just so they break even if run properly and pay the mayor say a 100k a week for his trouble.

anyway thanx for listeneing later .

very true - it should be like the shuttleports

how about instead of people it is a percentage of the weekly maintence of the city?

Great Idea on the maintenece being tied into the Mayors salary , Thus the bigger the city the more he or she makes.

The Starport Idea wouldnt hurt either. I think it should be for player ships only and charge a docking fee as it is a private facility . come one come all let the politicians speak out Its what we do best !!

Those are good ideas. I also think a starport that allows only players to park their ships in player cities would be a good addition. It would draw more customers to the vendors in the cities and would possibly help in recruting people to live in them.

sweet ideas there, getting grants from alligning to a faction would make sense and would also go along way to addressing the economic inbalance of the city system, our city is still paid for by the janta every week atm and it would b nice if we could atleast make cities self sufficiant if not profitable. I think cities do kinda hold a factional atatus already. When we placed out 1st terminals(or base it might have been) our gardens and civic structures showed on the map with the prefix "imperial". So it might not b that hard to impliment

Also that starport idea is a really nice 1, could get it at metro and limiting it to citizens would b ideal. I think that would b a pain in the ass to impliment tho, as it would add other points of interplanetarry travel and the game would have to check the players name against the city roster which is still highly unreliable at best. We have active players on our list that left the city almost a year ago hehe.

City missions would b good aswell, could get them from a seperate terminal only in player cities and they could just b really badass versions of noremal, imp or reb missions that would require a groups worth of firepower to complete. Could either make them a nice high payout or make a percentge of the payout go directly to cityhall it would make grinding the city cash a bit more fun and also serve to draw ppl to their cities during there playtime thus addressing the ghost town issue
