Thread: Good place to put player city?

Depending on your server, there may not be any available player city slots opened, as they could be capped out. The first planets to reach cap seem to be the starting planets (Corellia, Naboo, Tatoonie). Some of the outer planets may still have slots open to place a city hall down on. I would suggest that you visit each planet and check the planetary map and count up how many cities are on the map. Checkyour server forum as well, and postyourquestion there. I don't have the link handy right now, but do a search for the latest caps on the planets. This was recently raised.

Whats a good planet to put a new city on? I traded my holocron for a Naboo City Hall, hoping to place a city on Naboo, but it said the planet has reached it's max number of players. I was thinking Corellia, but I don't know. What do you guys think? What info can I get from experienced politicians.

You could, but do your research andI HIGHLY recommend talking to the current Mayor first. By being up front and asking questions, you can first find out if you have any chance of being elected (as opposed to trying to run in a city of 250 people of the same PA who are going to vote for their leader no matter what) or if its the type of city that you WANT to run (they may be traders only, while you want to encourage PvP).

You might luck out, and chances are you will, by finding a city whose mayor would like nothing more than to step down. A lot of people are finding that Mayor just isn't what its cracked up to be, and is a huge waste of skill points for little return, in their opinion.

I'd actually start by posting on your server forums, explaining that you wish to become a Mayor and are inquiring if there are any Mayors on the boards who have been considering stepping down, and if you can meet with them to see if you can meet their cities proposed goals, or if there are any cities with MIA Mayors who seek to vote someone new in, but have been unable to find someone who is willing to sacrifice the points.

Either way, one of the worst things you can do for your reputation is to just plop a house down in an established city, place your name on the ballot, and start barking that you're running against the current mayor with no clue what you're up against. Tact, patience, and caring for your prospective sitizens will probably get you what you want.

That's boring. Couldn't I just run for mayor of an already populated player city? If I get people to vote for me?

BTW, you have a 'Naboo' city hall...

It can only be placed on ... Naboo, Rori, or Dantooine.

Rori may be your only option because Dantooine is also popular for player cities.

I have a city on Rori, but the moonRori is not for everyone. It is much quieter and arguably tamer. If you're looking to be in the center of the action... Rori isn't it.

Rori is also a 'galactic cul de' sac'. Then only way on or off of Rori is through Naboo. Going toCorellia? Go toNaboo>Corellia.... Going to Tatooine? Go to Naboo>Tatooine.

On Starsider, Dantooine is relatively unpopulated. I think I'll go there. I teamed up with a guy who would put his PA in the city. How do I get members though? I mean **edit**, if there any other way than going aroundTheed or Coronet shouting "JOIN MY PLAYER CITY"?
