Thread: An idea for Master Politicians: /TransferLotsToMayor
The idea is that a player could temporarily transfer their lots to the mayor of a city. The mayor would have X hours to place anything on that players lots. When the time is up, the lots and the building on it revert back to the original player.
This would allow a mayor (Master would be best I think, give us a good reason to get it) to layout his or her city exactly as he or she wants.
Example: I'm building my town. All the citizens give me the house they want to place and /transferlotstomayor. After I get everyone's house and lots, I can then go around and layout ever part of the city.
I think there is not much potential for abuse if you keep the transfer time low (maybe 24 hours).
What do you think Politicians?
I like it (but I'm not a politician). It takes a lot of work to setup a city the way you want and some people can't seem to figure out how to place a house within an existing pattern.
I'd also be nice if the mayor just had the ability to /movestructure <reason message>(while in or targeting the structure) and it bring up the overhead placement map. This way the mayor could only move the structure within a screen of the original placement and correct alignment problems in the city. An email should then be sent to the owner of the house informing them that the mayor has repositioned their structure within the city along with the specified "reason".
I dont know if you are aware of the /transferstructure command. It works very similarly to your idea but the mayor has to use his own lotsat first to place the structure.
That works too assuming the mayor has free lots of his/her own to do it. That's how I initially setup the core area of our town - by placing a house, transferring it to a player, and so on until I had the setup I wanted. I only had 3 lots free though because of my existing houses, factory and harvesters so it was a bit slow going.
