Our city lost 2 citizens today due to inactivity rule. I and our other politicians presumed it would be 6 weeks from patch that these people would drop and we were planning for it.
One was seemingly gone and the other logged in as of at least 3/12 verified by 1credit bank tip email.
How can we even being to plan or anticipate if citizens who are 'active' drop from the roster? This is complete and utter BS.
We need to know at risk of dropping and when so we can accomodate the situation.
I foresee many cities falling becuase of this lunacy.
I have no problem playing by the rules, but if we have no **edit**ing idea what the rules are, how are we supposed to survive? (and I never curse but this just pisses me off)
We currently have 10 citizens not logged in that we expect to lose due to inactivity.. fine.. we've replace them.. but when citizens who have logged in days ago are dropped, how are we to respond? We have no idea that they would even drop and more importantly NO EXPECTATION that they would ever drop.
Fine, make a system, but make sure the damn system works and we know the rules.
I am extremely agitated about this turn of events. Not only did I lose 25 Million credits worth of inventory due to a vendor bug yesterday (which soe refuses to correct) but now you are telling me that my citizen roster may just be thrown out the window with each passing moment?
This needs to be EXPLAINED in DETAIL or hotfixed so it doesn't occur anymore till they can fix their problems.
A major client base is citizens of player cities and if those cities fall, so will the subsciption base. Our city is worth $971 per month to soe. It is priceless to our citizens. We have faith we can overcome any obstacle, but we MUST know what we are facing to do so. Don't leave us in the dark.
an excellent post and i have to agree this really upset me as well as i had citizens who were dropped for inactivity... Since they were 3m infront of me, i asked them to redeclare. I mean this is just too typical of the devs... come up with a system ... have it not well documented and put great citys at risk because of it.
Just an update on our city, our maintenence cycle ran today.
We had 137 citizens last night, I got 25 inactivity emails, and now we are down to 112.
Best I can tell, quite a number of these people were being double-counted. So some really are active citizens of my city, and others had left our city to declare somewhere else - this system just cleaned them all out and now they need to redeclare. One of the ones in my list was even the mayor of another city. A few of these people have been able to declare residence just fine though and got back on the citizen list. One curious situation was an active player that got nixed - she has a house in the city and when she went to redeclare, it told her that she had already declared residence there.
Some of these people were definitely inactive, and some of them even had their declared residence dissappear weeks ago but were still being counted as citizens for some reason until tonight - so these people certainly should not still be on the citizen list.
Other people still have houses left in the city, but I did know that they have been inactive for some time. These are the killers that are taking up valuable space while not being counted and we can do nothing to remove them.
Seems like they did a lot of purging of both inactive as well as buggy citizens. We'll probably be sorting these things out for a while to come here.
