Okay, with the inactive rule, what happens to the houses that are left behind? Will they go "Poof" or do we have to wait for the maintenance to decay? Are the residents notified that they have been declared "Inactive" and "Removed" as a residence of the city? Does the Mayor get this notice as well? Allot of questions that probably no one except maybe a DEV can answer I'm sure. But I was trying to get as much information as I can to get a feel of what I need to do to help my city.

I don't want this to turn into a flame about the 6-week rule, just trying to find some answers. Thanks.

The inactive houses are left to decay at the normal rate.

Mayors get an email when a house has been declared inactive and that person is removed from the citizen list and total city numbers. Basically, their house becomes a condemned lot, unusable for building and not contributing to the city in any way other than property tax.

There is a way to combat this, but it involves a lot of work. you just increase the property tax to teh max and refund the citizens who you know are around the money collected each day/week. lots of work i know, but it'll free those lots up quicker

The "Tax Everyone" approach is a work around, and would be alot of work, esspecially for a 150+ city. What it does not address, however, is the citizens that were planning to be gone for 2-3 weeks, and put 4 weeks maint in their houses. They would come back to poofed, or near-poofed houses. Eventually everyone would get wise to this and put in a little extra maint for brief absences, thus saveing their houses.

It's an idea though.
