Thread: Im sorry Bria, Ahazi and the rest of the very full servers.
I have been very much against bringing back the inactivity rule but I had no idea your servers were so packed with cities. I guess the best solution is for the devs to bring in a rule that the inactivity rule applies on all servers with more than 125 - 150 cities. That way it wont destroy new servers or current servers that dont have large populations. Im surpisedanything even spawns on your servers with so many cities and the lag must be something amazing. You have double the city population of my server Valcyn and there are people complaining on our server about reduced spawns due to cities.

Hi Refah,
Yes your on a server with 149 cities so you more than likely need it but spare a thought for the guys on the new Europe servers. They have 69 cities and more than likely the only people there are alts. The inactivity rule would kill them and it simply would not be fair. Its not a servers fault if everyone created characters on the Big Name servers before theirs. People jump in and out of servers but always spend most of the time in the server their main is on rather than the new struggling characters. To bring that rule back across the board woulddestroy the hard work done on these smaller servers to try and make cities work. Im on Valcyn which was also one of the last original servers to come online and we only have 96 cities according to the Devs.
PS:I know the devs are not telling the truth by the way. When they say cities they include outpost rankas a city which isnt an honest way to do it. Im sure in a press release they would love to announce aserver has 180 CITIES unfortunately thats not the case.I do stats for Vacyn the hard way by taking shuttles from panet to planet and looking at the terminals and I can tell you for a FACT that Valcyn only has 31 cities with over 55 citizens which is what you need to be DECLARED a real CITY according to the games own code.
As I said above I think its fine to set the code for the rule to implement everytime a server hits 125+ cities. That way its more like a fire cutting back the dead wood to bring new life rather than all out destruction of a new forest as well just for the sake of it.

speaking as a mayor from ickle Infinity :-p I don't think the inactivity rule will affect us any more or less than anyone else. I think the core player base there is pretty stable - we have 58 citizens in my city, about 10 (at a guess)of which are likely to disapear in the not to distant future, but on average, we get 2 new people per week, so it evens out, especialy as a few people are starting to unlock their Force sensitive slots :-)
but I was intrigued by the stats - it would be interesting to see those numbers in relation to server population to see if some servers have a higher house to player ratio than others....
