to start when level one and all you have is the city hall your prices is 35k a week once get to level 2 and able to place more structers i would raise taxes based off how many people living there to help pay for it but do not place full amount limit structers till you get more people living there so the taxes can pay for any new structers you place and prevents you from having to raise the taxes once set and it gives people a reason to bring their friends to move in

PS i am mayer and i run a city i braught 2 guilds in before i decide where to place the city so we have a little goverment and each week 1 leader of each guild and i sit down and discuss whats going on with the city and what money we have coming in and what stores is making what and yes you can charge sales tax so you can make shop keepers pay their dues. i keep my taxes low and i make another voting terminal and vote on the taxes and each week when city updates happens i check the vote and go by that so my citizens and the 2 guilds are active in their city growth i treat it like a real goverment as even tho i am mayer but others work and live there too so i want everyone to have fun and help with the decision making proccess i do not make a profit off the city because i am resident architect there and i make my money building houses and doing Interier decrating for people. All money made from the city stays in the treatury any donations stays in the treasury as the money belongs to the citizens not me

if you go to the thread labeled "Got a Question? Look Here First! (Useful Links)" and click on "politician FAQ", there's a list of costs for player cities
