Ok, so our politician has decided she wants to explore other avenues and would like to pass the torch on to me. I am already a novie politician, so I am wondering whether I need for her to /transferstructure to me, or if I just need to beat her in the next election?

No doubt I will have a lot of questions as this is all greek to me, but it looks like it can be fun!

She has to register to run in the next city election and then you need more than half of your registered citizens to vote for her.

The transfer of the hall will take place automatically at the end of the election if she is successful in defeating you.

If this is a friendly transfer of power, which you indicated, have the curent mayor send out a city-wide email asking that people vote for you and not her. It will provide the outgoing mayor with a nice exit email and a good introduction for you to all the citizens of your community.

if your city isn't too big, you'll have not much problem making peoples vote for you... Yet if your city is a big one, you may ecounter difficulties....

trust me it can be a real pain if you have some inactive citizens

Of course you can try to help out a bit if it's not working well because of many inactive players ...

- by aquiring help from outsiders who temporarly build a house in your city (that maybe you provide) and vote for you (for a small fee) - they can wait to do this till the day or the hour of the update

- by doing some small events on different days to get citizens to actually be in town and at the city hall

- or - as Pappi learned at FanFest - by contacting CSR, although reports from other players say CSR isn't allowed to do this - just try and convice them
