My city changed mayors recently. We are a guild city and the former mayor wanted to free up his skill points. The new candidate was on the ballot for weeks and hardly anyone voted. Finally, we got serious and bugged everyone who logged in constantly until they finally voted. It was a real hassle. We are around 100 citizens and many don't log in frequently. I think the mayor won the election by only one or two votes despite the get out the vote effort.

Good luck changing mayors. It is not an easy thing to do.

A question for those Politicians who have either succeeded a mayor or who have been successfully voted out of office in a peaceful transition of power:

What method worked for you to transfer power to another Politician? How did you get the population interested in voting?

it all depends on what kind of city you are, why you wanna change the mayor ? ect...

I succefully switched my city mayor a few weeks ago cos the current was inactive (so useless)... I had to ask about 35 peoples individually to come vote and help us switch the mayor (we also send mails spam for it)... all i can say is it was a real pain to do for a 60+ citizens city... i can't even imagine that for a 100+ city...

that was for switching the mayor with both the current and oponent agreement, you just have to make people come vote... now it ork better when the city is made with 2 or 3 same factionned PA like Thedoras and everyone know each other... might be muchharder for a neutral city with both Imp and Rebs...

well, if you just want to have a political activity in your city with 2 or 3 mayor making campain... I'm affriad that people won't really have interest in voting... well, some will have but i don't think it will be sufficient for a mayoral change... the current mayor will always win

the fault to that automatic vote things...

If getting votes from inactive players is a problem, you may want to call on some active friends from around the server to move to the city for a week just so they can vote in the election and get the change of power taken care of.

Exactly the same here, was a close run thing, between my main char, and my alt I set up for Mayor I won against myself in the end though...

but yeah, it's a major pain took several mails and keeping an eye on my friends list to ensure I bugged them enough to vote.
