It's bugged. I learned the hard way. I promissed my citizens that I would spend 2+ months to Master Politician and get them specialization of "industrial society." WellI did, only to find out from other politicians after a post here, that abilities granted at master somehow were"lost" around publish 6 and have not been corrected almost 3 publishes later.. I looked in the documentation on the SOE guides section just to be sure i didn't misread and it still says you getindustrial societyat Master... So save the 6 points and all the AP which is pretty hard to come by as a politician/architect
No need for me to Rant futher other then I wish this had been made very obvious from the start.. I hope thisprevents any other player from making the same mistake and going through the same grief I did by reading this.
Peace

Wow...
so anyway, let's take a look at this:
- May as well master it anyway... six points won't do much else for you
- Eventually it wil be fixed, there may be other "new" feratures added at master and shame on you if you aren't the first to be able to get your city those things.

The master poli dual-city-specializations were removed because they weren't working correctly. They weren't sure when or if they can put them back in.

Well unfortunatly this "eventually" seams to be somewhen after JtL expansion comes out (and the first "few" bugs will be squashed) ...
Greenmarine admitted that these abilities were taken out of the game shortly after going live due to them being bugged (and since these skills seam fairly down on the priority list - compared to the probably intense bug-searching that would have to be done - it will take time).
Unfortunatly many guides the devs posted on their websites are inaccurate, outdated, or even plain false (remember the posting "how Skill enhancers work" Friday FAQ - where the Devs had to realise that the bugged concept that was in game was nowhere near what the guide said)
Non the less - I think these master box specialisations wheren't that big a deal anyway. Although I knew nothing was in the master box (because the ingame skilltree clearly is empty - and posts on these forums indicated the problem, although I was under the first to become master Politician due to the multiple update bug) only because of the title "Master Politician" ...
And the really good thing: Since I sold some skills out again (now done to 2-4-2-4 - because I had to replace shuttle and terminals - initially 0-1-2-4 to manage militia, place trainers and gardens) a very nice bug keeps the "Master Politician" Title up (probably as long I don't change it, which I ain't gonna do
)

Good to know I just started to be a myor and I was wondering what master mayor did. Maybe in the polition branch we can get vice mayors too. I need some help. When I was the vice mayor for my former mayor I helped out but I was only a milita person and I needed sometimes to move items in the city. Well just a thought.

Sounds like you should have read the boards sooner.
I hang on to Master Politician just 'cause. As was metioned before, what else are you doing with those six points.
Apprenice points are hard to come by? Are you sure you're cut out to BE a politician? No offence...

No offense? Obviously you intended to offend otherwise you would not have made the statement "no offence" you would have just omitted your comment. Don't make offensive comments if you don't want to offend... Anyhow AP is hard to come by when you are a master politician.. Who else needs trained in that? Not many people are looking for training inpolitician and yes AP is hard to come by... All the holo grinders make for some fierce compition..I spent hours trying to get enough AP.... After a few hours of little success I ended up having to drop other skills totrain scout skills since that seemed the only skills I could train people in to get enoughAP... then dropping that and mastered architect again and mastering politician... Yes the AP is hard to come by....and no it's not worth the time I spent getting it if the profession provides nothing but a flashy title in the end.

Good idea I have a deputy mayor, though not recognized by any internal game mechinism...Also I wish I had seen a post about this when I was working towards Master Politician I would never had done it til I was sure it was fixed.

Thanks this is the first time I have seen an explination from the community.. The CSRs didnt know. The politician Representitive didn't seem to know(or at least didn't explain it like this if they did), All I was able to find previous to this was that the abilities somehow mysteriously disappeared around publish 6.... Thanks again for the info.

I mastered it anyway though I stll would not have wasted the time, If I had known.. and once they fix it I will again master the politicianprofession....6 points allowed me to get 2 more venders under merchant...so that is what 6 points is... and what are you talking about "shame on you... blah blah blah...."??? Who said anything about being first to get my cityanything? LoL next time read my post and post your creative and postivethoughts.. Don't come in andmake personal attacks. The point of my post was to inform others of the current state of MasterPolitician,to vent a little, and to make sure there was something out thereso folksto make an educated decission on their own. If you wantto master it and stay a Master politician even though itprovides absolitly no benefits otherthen a flashy titlethen good for you.Try as I may I still don't see the "shame" in not doing what is best for my city and citizens. Mastering Politician is good for no one right now.
If I had seen a post with this information in it I would not have mastered politician and that is exactly the purpose of my post.
