last week in politics

I'm still in the middle of moving so no SWG. I've been trying to keep up on the forums though.

I don't have much to say about my city, especially since I haven't been online... so how is your city this week?

The City formerly known as Eisligarde on Tatooine (Bria) has changed hands, and names.

Paragon Minx did a fine job with the city for many months, but could not devote time to maintaining the city.

Now it is under new management, and a new vision. I am a long time resident of the city, and could not sit by while buildings crumbled.

The exclusive nature of the city has been changed. No longer will just one guild; one faction control the city. Currently there is 5 guilds calling this City home. Each guild leader can let people into the city, at his or her own discretion. While I was instrumental in the original name, I wanted to distance it from it's old persona by changing its face. The city is now called Mos Igarde.

Anyone wishing to relocate there should contact myself, G'whizz, Tokazza, Chiiry, or Fortunes --- All members of the original controling guild, ESF. Contacting other guilds there is also acceptable, but they may restrict access to members only.

Thank you for this opportuny, Pappi, to speak about this change.

Riverwood, Kauri Dantooine -400 -700

Well, just like the previous week we are still expanding every day. Last week 12 new citizens joined our city bringing the total on 57 (!). Only a month after the birth of our city we feel that we can be proud of what we accomplished.

Over the last week we have placed the cantina, cloning center and medical center... We have started decoration of the buildings but as we dedicate a whole lot of time in finding new citizen this is going slowly.

Some of our citizens have put up some vendors in their houses, we will be moving them to our to be builded mall this week. To our own suprise we have some great resource and loot vendors in town.

I have started talks with a nearby guild that has settled aproximatly 450m from cityhall. We hope to come to an agreement that they will move their houses and guildhall so that everything fits into city planning. Ofcourse they are also welcome in merging with our guild. First contact has been positive, we support their ideas and they support ours. I think we can build something together and sure hope we will.

Today we will become a level 4 city and we have our shuttleport deed and location ready. We are looking forward to see if this will bring more traffic to our city. We are close to the Kunga caves so our city is the ideal "bus stop" for a quick Kunga visit.

Now that the shuttle is there we need to build a better mall, thats going to be the priority this week.

I need your opinion on the following. To get traffic going and to get the city more popular we want to:
- Set a Doctor Macro Buffer
- Set a Dancer / musician Macro Buffer ( 2 toons for extra fast mindbuffs )
I have heard pro's & contra's and I would like to know if other cities have experience with this kind of stuff. We dont want to steal money from the ATK docs and entertainers, so maybe we'll put up a sign asking people only to use the service if there is no ATK buffer available.

Anyway I think this covers all... hope to read about other cities

Things have been going ok in our city.. we lost one of our founders in a massive self-destructive end to his time in SWG, as he brutally severed all ties to the guild and city as he was leaving the game for EQ2. Such is life.

The rest of the city is in good shape, we've lost a few, and gained a few.. seem to be holding steady at about 60 people in town. We have a core group of about 30 people who play almost every day. We've got a few back from EQ2/WoW as well. That's encouraging. Perhaps WoW is not the holy grail of gaming that some people would like to think.

All in all, things are looking good. I do feel we're kind of in a state of "waiting" right now.. waiting to see how many people leave, waiting for the combat revamp, waiting to see what's going to happen. Our core group shows no signs of leaving, and seems to be looking forward to the upcoming changes. Here's hoping all goes well.

BarterTown, Tat (Scylla) continues to do well. I've been avoiding the official forums for a while, but we've got a lot of interesting ideas to see what happens. I'm a bit miffed by the current issues that Scylla is facing after our crash on Sunday, but HOPEFULLY, there will be some resolution there. I'd love to see who owns what. If I could, then I wouldn't be as ticked off about my missing friends list...

Township of Crossroads

In the peaceful plains south of Kaadara.

Well we reached 22 residents today and Im extremely happy about this. We are 3 weeks and 2 days old now and I feel we are comming along well.

With the last weeks election exp, I was able to Organize a Militia, place a few fountains, and install a bank terminal (in its trial location). Hopefully with the next election I will have enough to place a garden or 2 and place a few mission terms for our residents. I thank all of ourmembers for their continued support.

If anyone (imperial or neutral) would like to have a place to belong (you dont need to be part of our guild to join the town), just contact me and I will send you all the information youll need.

Thank you

Mos Aga'me, located 1.3 km W of Mos Eisley, farstar

well, recently the WoW and EQ2 effect is "working" - the town was laied near the founders spot and some "local" residents, we're still at 41 citizens at this time, the interest for the ground game is comming back, but WoW and EQ2 took alot of people away, logging in and see the mails "Lost Citizen" - luckly, if you can call it that, thoese who have left are thoese we have never seen at all or very little and it was thoese who had houses just sitting there, so the good news is that i'm abel to get a better citylayout working, takes time, but that's the life of a mayor

Hilltop, Naboo, Tempest

Oh man has it been a crazy week for this young politician...

Let's see, first on saturday we had out scavanger hunt. It had it's ups and downs, got a decent croud to start off with, although my expectations where cut a little short. I was hoping for 40-50ish croud wise, which I know was a little optimistic, and we came up about 20, however I'd say 1/3 of them did not compete in the hunt and where helping me out or just chatting around town. I really didn't mind as I wanted to get a positive image of my town out and get people to see us as a place where people actually can come, as well as for people to check out our shops, so all in all it was a pretty decent experience. The hunt it's self was probably a tad too hard for some (c'mon I was giving away a mill and an av-21, so you better work for it) and it took about three hours for the last person to make it in. Unfortanetly several had given up and in the end, there where only six finishers. Those that did finish said they had a blast and wanted me to do one again, I think next time I will just put everything out at once to save time instead of splitting it up into 4 parts.

So things are pretty good, clean up the mess from that and get our cantina back into shape, and next morning I wake up to find out that s**t has hit the fan in town. At first I wasn't quite sure what was going on except for a mailing from an officer of one of the guilds in town, MoD, complaining that my guild is invading the town.

I guess I should take a step back and explain my town a bit for a few seconds, Hilltop has always been a nuetral town that didn't force anyone into a guild. For a while we had an official town guild, HCA, but nobody ever had to join it. Over the past months HCA and the town had been dwindling and so most (see all but one or two) of the guild members in the town's guild left, leaving the town practically guildless. Me and many of the town's members joined another guild, E-D, that had long standing ties to our town, and I decided to open up the town to all guilds who just want a friendly place to come to.

So back on track I reply to him telling him that there is no invasion and there is no official guild in control of the town. The only one in charge is really me and my militia members. Shortly after I find out from my wife (who is also on the militia) that there was a fight between members of our E-D and MoD, which I later found out also included a MoD militia member. Aparrently from what I peaced together, an E-D member had been scanned overt, and was LD in town. A MoD member went over and killed the E-D member. This of course pissed off the E-D member and people from both guilds started shouting and yelling at each other, including MoD's telling the E-D's that they just allow them to live there and it is their town that they built.

I contacted the MoD guild leader and told him flat out that his guild members where wrong and that he needed to straiten them out. Although a bit confused as to what happened he agreed with me that things where not good and we tried to set them strait. Unfortanetly I guess some of the MoD members where so upset that the guild pretty much started crumbling. I don't follow the guild very closely other then keeping track of who is declaired citizen in town, but from what I have heard roughly half the guild left and now the guild leader who is very upset about it disbanded the guild. I think about 6-7 people moved out that day which was really saddening, as I for one do not like fights going on in my town. Luckily the E-D presence in our city is enough that we will still be able to keep above 55 without them as long as we take a tad of effort, but I really didn't want to see them leave like this.

Desert Flower Commune, Tatooine

Our mayor, Dharma Moonshade, has recently started weekly theme raids. Our first one was last night and we had hunted giant sand beetles to harvest hides for a crafter in the Commune. She has implemented simple rules regarding these hunts such as last night, no doc or ent buffs were allow. We had a total of 10 people show up and even got a new resident to move in from the hunt. Everyone said they had a good time on the hunt. This has started a few other residents to want to lead small group hunts/events for other residents and this has in turn brought back some of the fun we originally had with SWG when it first came out.

Last check, citizenship has remained stable but we still have a bug in which people who are no longer residents (no structure they own in the Commune limits) are still listed as residents. Once this gets fixed, we will take a hit on residents and will come very close to dropping a level and losing our shuttleport. So there is a slight emphasis to recruit a few more citizens to build up a bigger buffer.

Today, the Commune is one year old. We didn't plan any celebration but are planning to have a private party for all residents to celebrate this and the other RL holidays in one night.
