ok i am not a mayor or any such thing i just make weapons and kill things with them but our city Genesis on lok on flurry was going fine until our mayor decided that hey he is the

mayor i can do whatever i freakin want. So later on when Chedalla provoked by members of teh giuld decided to run for mayor and it all seemed fine and dandy but as soon as The

mayor Ekoni got wind that he was behind in the votes he stacked brandu crates all around and over teh voting terminal and did what he could to keep everyone from voting. well

this got some odd comotion going such as threats and taunts and so on and so on. Eventually our giuld leader Haledorn (the real power in our town) Brought a meeting to stand and

we went over the basics giuldy jobs ciy advancmant ect but everything went down when we hit the topic of mayor. Haledorn anounced that Ekoni will gladly step down from his

position and renounce mayor over to chedalla this went sort of smoothly accept for ekoni throwing thought bubbles into the air with rude messages and so on. Haledorn was going to

let this all go but during the topic he got up and left the hall we followed and got an email stateing that Ekoni was kicked from teh giuld. We all made it to the giuld hall and

he anounced that ekoni had been threataning to take items and structures and cash via tells. well after being kicked from giuld Ekoni whet around cleaning out every item and

spare credit he could before millitia could catch him and ban him. Of coarse he also made of with the city hall and such.

In all he made off with near 100k and some crystals i do not know exactly what he gotbut i am sure this stuff is close

he is out there on flurry now with his own giuld that is supposably growing but i doubt they will last long

So all in all my statement and question is why the hell would a mayor do this and do any of you guy rule like this personaly i think this is pathetic just my opinion

hon, this is hard to read punctuation and real paragraphs might help. most of it was also really confusing, so let me see what I can answer:

if your mayor is doing something to prevent folks from voting, he's griefing and people can report him to CSRs for that. same if he threatens to destroy the city because he's behind in votes, but only before he destroys the city.

I'm not sure how he "made off" with your city hall though... if he destroyed the city, the hall goes away. it doesn't redeed. I'm also not sure if you actually have a question O.o

Scorched Earth mayors aren't too terribly rare but always the exception and never the rule. People get a taste of power and assume that they deserve it. I'm guilty myself in that I somewhat rule over the urban plan but anything beyond that and I pretty much haveas muchsay in the manner as anyone else. The other guys keep me in check if only by doing their jobs more than well enough so I don't creep in and pretend to know what's goin on.

That is pretty much the best way a town can be run it seems. Much more stability if there is a "council" of sorts and not just 1 person holding the realm of mayor even if he isn't the leader of the citizens. You can never tell who will do what when push comes to shove and that is why choosing your mayor is really important. Nobody knows what someone will do especially when they have a fairly anonymous role.

I've pondered many times just /burstrun'ing with the cityhall loot and robbing the treasury. But my willpower stops me everytime lol. Just FYI: Mayors can only take 50k out of the city treasury per day so it would be a real trick to make off with the entire city treasury on a moments notice.

As an ex-mayor, I can say most mayors not only WANT to be mayors but also want tobe good mayors. I'm sure, they aren't too worried about the treasury. Hell, our city cost over 300k a month and taxes only paid half and I paid the other half for a year. So, it's not the money, honey or a few crystals that a mayor would decided to blow it.

I would tend to think what may happen is a Guild (either a good one or a bad one) wanted to overtake the city (and this is easy to do). Especially, if some are alsoin the militia.

Now, I've been mayor for a year. As an Architect, I probably built (and often rebuilt) most of my city. I've given my time, free houses, speeders and credits to every person who joined the city. I placed the trainers and paid the other 50% of the weeklybills which the city treasury didn't cover while citizens were offdoing whatever they wanted. I was making sure the city had enough citizens to retain the shuttlport. I would spend time with the new players, getting them settled in the game and on hunts.

Now, I'm not going to advertize that if you're (or a Guild is) trying to overrun me that I'll destroy as much as I can when I leave. But, if someone or some Guild is just trying to overrun me for NO GOOD reason, we'll after I remove the garage andthe clone I would be destroying City Hall too. Hell, I'll even take 50k a day too. I'd be worried why I'm being outvoted too.
