Thread: Citizenship Bug
There is a bug in the citizenship where a player can pull up a house, declare residence in another city, and still be on the citizen list of the previous city.
It doesn't seem to majorly affect anything (don't know about the citizen emails though), although they ARE included in the cities population count.
Basically we had a whole group move and join us from another planet/city, and they joined our city. They all declared residence. They now have dual residency (I went and looked at the other servers citizen list and our list and the person appears twice).
We also had one person leave our city by just ripping up their house, and the city never acknowledged that they had left. I don't know if this person ever declared anywhere else.
i am sure you dont mean me because i actually did talk to people before i left the city and yes i have declared residency elsewhere since......my actions were not anything other than wanting my char to be close to the char that she married and i hope i didnt make anyone mad in the guild
i still enjoy you guys company and want to hunt and enjoy the game with you but a womans place is with her husband if she has taken that route and that is exactly what my char believes...hehe all rp there

Actually no, heh it was xxSniperx who removed his house and still remains on the books, and likewise the DLH guys that moved in with us, some of them are still listed as being on Mos Nova's list of residents. ![]()
Nothing against you ![]()
I know because I never got the email saying they had left.
I don't know if they are still getting my 'citizens' emails or not.
Oh yeah I should point out that its not as simple as them having removed one house and switched residency to another house, because that act gives you two emails. One for the person 'leaving' the city, and one for the person 'joining' the city.
In this case the person has simply lifted up their house. I never got any notice, that was definately their residency, and they are still listed on the terminal. I'm pretty sure that the terminal is simply reporting what it knows to be the residents, and that this person is still on the roster.
The count of citizens is including this ghost, and it is obviously netting me extra XP. Its probably happening all over but no-ones really noticed since its a beneficial side effect rather than a detrimental one.
I have had that issue as well as another one. This person was declared as a citizen about a week ago. Hereplied to an email that I sent to (citizens) while I was looking at the citizenship report. His name was not on there. I asked him who he was since I didn't see him on the report. He got all upset saying that I must have kicked him out.
I tried to explain that I had no such power and wanted to find out what was wrong. I could not find out anymore since he picked up his house and left. I never received a message about losing him as a citizen even thoughhe received an emailsent to (citizens). I have asked all people who live in the city to to check the citizen report and make sure they are properly listed.
I had received no Lost Citizen email regarding him, and have not received a New Citizen email since, assuming he did re-declare. He still shows up on the citizen list. Of note, he did not remove his resident house, simply declared residence elsewhere. I was a little embarrased to be so ignorant.
On this same day, within hours of the other incident, I relocated a citizen from a small to a medium house. I got two emails for doing this, so the system seemed to be working as normal.
CSR won't do anything about it. I've submited several bug reports and CSR tickets. I was basically told that I need to get the individual to come back to the city hall to undeclare as a resident. In addition, house poofing does not guarantee that they will be removed. We have two individuals whose houses that have poofed and they are still listed as residents. CSR will not even remove these individuals as residents.

There is a bug with citizenship that keeps a player on the citizen roll even if they have left thecity. It only seems to remove them automatically if their house poofs...I'd have to do some poking around to find out for sure. The revoke citizenship option was added to the city terminal to work around this, but the player has to do it.
I would suggest sending a detailed CSR report rather than just a bug report. That way you can recieve a direct response and hopefully action. Tell them everything, even stuff they should know like the fact that a player isn't supposed to be a citizen if they don't have a house in the city. There's a guide stickied at the top of this forum which gives some very good guidelines for CSR tickets.
