Thread: Since Publish 19, /cityban appears to be broken...
Ever since Publish 19 was put on the live servers, players who were city banned prior to the Publish and also after the Publish are not actually city banned. The Merchants in the city have informed me and forwarded the emails to prove that they have been buying from the vendors in town.
I have confirmed with the militia that these people were not city pardoned.
I think when they tried to add the idea that city banned players could also not fly in, that either the list of city banned players was wiped, or it just simply isn't working.
I really love the idea that they can't fly into town. I was very excited to see that in the patch notes. I only wish it would work.
Is any body else having this or a similar problem?
Without a way to view who is /cityban from a city, this might be a hard thing to track. Keep in mind that even if your merchants have seen those people in town, /cityban only prevents them from using city services. They still could be coming in on speeder and entering privately-owned buildings.
I know /cityban is still working because I did some tests with it today. Publish 19 may have wiped a city's /cityban list, but the command is still fully functional (more so, actually, since the bugs with it got fixed).
Coincidentally... a player that has been away from the game for six months returned. He was visiting another city to shop for weapons because he, too, believed that /cityban prevented him from using vendors in the city.
It does not.
A 'citizens' letter requesting that players individually ban people from their buildings can do this, if the residents co-operate.
And yes, he could not use the shuttle to my town.
