SWG is a great game. I remember that “feeling” I got when I first logged into beta. I was once again a 14-year-old boy at the moves watching the saga of Star Wars unfold but this time I was in it. That felling once again came with the addition of vehicle mounts and player city’s. One night it was normal game play with my clan, and then next night it was like Santa’s Elves changed my game into something better and new.

Last night I logged in with high hopes. As mayor I had some responsibilities and request the second I logged in and recall just finishing up with them when something caught my eye flying over the lake. It was a X34! Once again that “feeling” came to me and I was happy. I was pleasantly surprised as I stood in the center of town as citizens drove around racing each other and joking to me on how we need streetlights and a parking lot it was a good time. Our city felt and looked along the lines of the daydreams I had in my youth inspired by the Star Wars movies.

Unfortunately that feeling did not last long. Our fine city was evaded by hostiles that disrupted normal city life and players enjoyment. Normally this would have been taken care of with /city warn but alas it was removed! I cannot tell you the total disgust I have for this. I watch helplessly as our Militia request the invading players to leave our city with professionalism and honor knowing full well our Militia has been stripped of all powers to back up such requests and with little regard for decency for the SWG player base turn them into court jesters.

Our Militia what once was an honorable position, a spot of honor, something our players held in high regard and put on their uniform proudly was in one fell unkindly swoop by the Developers of this game dismissed like it was nothing, like they do not care what makes us happy, like a slap in our face. I am utterly totally extremely disgusted and out raged by this act.

My rage, disgust, and disappointment are directed to the players in this game that abused the Militia command for there own benefit. It is also directed at every single Developer, Supervisor, and person, who carelessly had a hand in letting the evil, hazing, griefing, player dictate this hasty removal and destruction of the militia, as well as making a large percentage of my Mayor XP, town development (Stronghold) go to waste.

I would gladly give up Player mounts, vehicles and my ability to fire a weapon to have this command back and once again have my Militia be proud to hold the title.

I totally agree!

It is impossible to manage a metropolis without this command in the game.

Please bring it back!

Like all good things, it's the exploiters and greifers that get it all taken away from us in the end.

I totally understand on both side of this.. but I think they should have kept it in and leave it at 2min. (we can deal with that.. people have plenty of time to "flee" the city)

Instead of fixing the problem, why is it just "removed" entirely. there are SOOOOOOOOO many bugs in this game that have been left unchecked, who peed on someones cheerios that this got yanked so fast. I can not believe that society today refuses to deal with problems....but would rather ignore them or screw those that use a system (whatever that maybe) properly and just take everything away.

Punish the abusers....make areas of NPC trapping no build zones....remember the message after release?

"If you have a house on the following planets, it will be destroyed by *a date*". and look...endor and Dath and Yavin 4 are no longer riddled with homes. Why ca't you do the same here instead of ruining a huge aspet of the game.

It amases me how they sneak in the BS patches with "candy" for everyone. Hey don't leave for Final Fantasy On-Line...WOW LOOK..a Jedi appeared!

Wait, ignore all the nerfing coming up...look player cities!

Wait, ignore the fact we nerfed CH again and took away a Militia major command, look vehicles!

Love us dont hate us! *sigh*

fact is with the cloning facitlity set how it is now and a 2 minute /citywarn delay the problem was solved... as usual an over reaction... and i was griefed a lot during the initial stages of /citywarn so don't cry to me you got killed.. so what... don't go to an opposing faction town then...

/citywarn or a new incarnation of it will be added in due time. One of the devs stated as much on the development forum. Unfortunately, they seem to have given it a low priority after the combat revamp so it will likely be months before anything happens. all we can do is sit tight, adapt, and share whatever strategies we all develope to combat the lack of this ability. /cityban is a poor substitute and really does very little except preventing the offending parties from cloning in your city or using your shuttleport. Vehicles give invaders quick and easy return trips to continue their assaults.

Agreed

Just wish there were enough people to join in a walkout of this game to make it financially painful to the boneheads in SOE.

I think the cries also came from a lot of Neutrals.. who are "pulled" into the conflict.. or the player cities were using the "block off the POI"

They (SOE) should have done the following.... and kept it

1. extend to 2min.. thus anyone have plenty of time to get out and dont come back (I wouldn't if they warn me)

2. make all POI 5km radius non-city buildable

i couldnt agree more the removal was a total over reaction ... now there is talk about npc's actually removing xp from us! The devs truely have no idea what they are doing imho or they would listen to their customers.
