Well I've been running against the current mayor for the last 5 Month and all the exp I got is about 15k, in order for me to get close to being a Master politicitain so I can replace the mayor in case I win, is 59k. It would take me a year to get that much exp at an average of 10-15 peeople voting for me. And I think our city has a very good election, 40 or so people vote every cycle, I've been talking to other mayors and they tell me they would be lucky to get 10 votes in the whole cycle.

I think Exp should increase the more votes you get, that way you can reward cities that take the time to vote and support a sense of Democracy in their Cities.

Okay I'm done ranting about this, I would like to hear other peoples opinions in the matter.

One quick comment before the issue...you don't have to be a Master Politician to take over from another Master Politician. You may not be able to move some of the already-placed structures, but those structures don't go away just because you can't place them yourself.

Asking for xp increases is certainly a possibility. I can't guarantee anything, but I can pass it on. What we need to figure out first is how much of an increase would be sufficient to level in a timely manner without making it too easy?

I'll be starting several focus threads in the next few weeks to get a better idea of these things. I've got a lot of Fan-Fest-inspired ideas floating around and things I need to hear from all of you on.

IMHO I think the current flux of exp is pretty accurate for the amount of work you put into the profession. You don't need to allocate skill points anymore, and if you get 20 votes each cycle, thats practically any Tier 1-3 box you can learn. Maybe if the "powers that be" can implement a new quest/mission, like they did for dancer/musicians to get new dance/songs... along the lines of debates in the planet's capital on a designated day during your cities cycle to produce exp, etc... that would be a good way to change the current system, and you earn exp doing the "politician role"... Politician exp is slow but also is the requirements. 10k exp for Tier 4 box...and you never have to "surrender it".

Being mayor of my city for 7 months now, i am still 4433 politician, maybe this week i'll get my 3rd tier 4 box done..I would like another avenue to get exp rather than badgering every citizen to vote every cycle.

Comparing other professions, BH get BH exp and<insert any combatant profession>mission exp for each bounty they go on....well if they win.

I can understand some cities need more attention than others, but once you got the city the way you like it and you have a good militia... your really only gathering exp by registering and maybe sending out 2-3 emails each cycle.

Like I said, decomcracy doesn't give exp. In a case were you have a Monarchy like system where no one is challanging you, then you definatly don't need to do much work.
