Thread: why can't i expell someone
you can run against the mayor as long as you're a citizen, and (personally) I think you should if you don't think the current mayor is fair. campaign and ask folks in the city to vote for you, if they agree with you then they'll vote for you. guild leader and mayor doesn't have to be the same person since they're separate entities.
I was in a similar situation. . .
the biggest threat however is that once you start to run for mayor . . the current one will begin the treasury drain . . . pulling out as much as possible, as fast as possible.
personally I think that the city treasury shouldn't be removable but thats another story. Be prepared for the missing city structures ![]()
Hmm... well, I'm a guild leader and mayor of a multi-guild city that has seen the rule of three seperate mayors now from two seperate guilds. It can be done, but obviously depends on the people involved.
As far as your situation goes, from what you have said, I strongly suggest you talk to as many of the citizens of the city as possible before making your intentions known to the mayor in any way - including registering to run. You want to be sure that if you are going to reclaim your city by force that you have enough of a force backing you to insure a win before letting your opponent know they need to prepare for a challenger. Of course, if the mayor also has a large percentage of the citizen base as guildmates, this could be a losing proposition no matter what course you take. Good luck to you.

multiple guilds can rarely if ever be in a city
Mayors shouldn't be guildies or guild leaders IMO . . . it only leads to favoritism.
