I was hoping to groom an additional politician for our city, mostly for RP purposes, and I wondered if they could run and lose against our incumbent mayor and still gain XP. Or do we have to make a satellite outpost (or even village?) to get XP for the budding politician?

I did. We have a griefer excuse for a mayor that is already using threats & baldfaced lies to bully the populace, have a personal private city& he will not be there next week. So several people are in the wings to replace him. I personally ran right away, & even though he did NOT get any xp for votes, I *did*. FYI I was not logged in during the update so that's a non-issue. Next update we'll see if all the candidates get xp, or just the losers again.

So the xp bug is random I think. People get it any way you can think of. I just hope a CSR WILL reimburse the loss as they are supposed to!
