Thread: No City Zone 1000 meters around any major POI?
Is this getting added to prevent player control of static POIs?
I don't even know where I heard this mentioned, and a forum search turned up nothing.
Thanks for the input!
This will be a big problem. I could see 250-500m but 1000 is a long way. Also, what is a major static POI?
We are close to the Krayt Graveyard, but at least 500m from the actual bone graveyard. However, the Jawa vs Tusken spawn is actually just within our 450m radius. Are battlefields major static pois?
To me an intelligent mayor would pick a spot close to a POI so that people would want to come to your town. Who in the heck would want to go to the middle of no where tatooine? I do agree that cities encompassing or limiting access to POIs is wrong. But there has to be a happy medium.
Currently, I have seen no official post on what they are doing. Thunderheart said they are going to look at adding /warn back into the game. A lot of people feel this can only be accomplished if they make some cities move.
It's been mentioned only as a solution to the /citywarn controversy, as people blocking access to POI's are their largest reason for removing the command, it seems. I haven't seen it stated anywhere that they actually plan on asking you to move your cities.

They should have never allowed it to begin with, and I think they should force cities to move or disband that are that close to POI.
I do think they should have CSRs assist directly with these moves and allow a grace period of maybe a week to let the city get back to it's original size and not penalize them for the change though.
What are considered POIs though?
I have a city in South-Central Naboo and the Lesser-Prophet of the Darkside and her flame-pillar are now in our city boarders. Its not a big deal, and no one is blocking it. In this theoretical buffer from POIs would I be treated as someone blocking a POI, and for that mater is this static spawn a POI at all?
I don't think my situation is anywhere close to the TWO player cities that are on the edge of the Krayt Graveyard on Wanderhome and the many others on other servers. Why should I be punished because some @#&holes on another server are /citywarning people that are heading to the POI?
