I ask this quesstion as I'm getting ready to place a city hall deed to declare a player city. I understand that if you have 9 or 10 people who place houses after you place your city hall deed, that they are registered as residents as soon as they decalre residency in their house. If you place a city hall deed around existing houses making up a community, do those residents have to use their house terminal to redeclare their residency for the city to show them, or does this happen automatically 24 hrs after the city hall stucture is placed for those houses already placed and within the initial 150 meter radius for a level 1 city (outpost)?

If they are already declared, next time they enter there house, they will become a citizen.

Okay,

Thanks for that reply. This mean those residents would have to be at their house within the 24 hr period of the city hall deed once placed to redeclare their residency to prevent the city hall from dissappearing.

They don't have to redeclare residency. If they've already declared residency once in that home, then they simply need to enter that home in order to become a citizen.

Hi,

Just a word of warning to suggest you don't count on pre-placed homes towards the 10 you need in the first 24 hours - unless you're 100% sure these properties are active and used regularly. Would hate to see you loseyour new city hallthrough bad luck.

Obviously every server and area is different, but we placed near some homes not far from a busy town and expected to pick up some extra citizens this way.

Out of perhaps 6 existing localhomes, we gained just one resident who finally logged in after two weeks!

Since the city first expanded 8 days ago, taking in perhapsanother 6 homes within the new radius, we have yet to have a single existing resident log in.

And finally, after our second expansion on New Year's Eve, we've so farpicked up just one citizen from an additional 12 homes taken in underthe new radius.

I approached two of the folk named on the homes, and both turned out to have other homes in different player cities. The rest are presumably "dead" accounts with lots of maintenance pre-paid or players taking a break from the game. All in all, a little disappointing!
