After a split in our PA, the majority remaining faction put up a new mayor for election who would remain independant of any PAs present in the town and be responsible for only running the city. Any present PAs would have equal votes in town decisions, etc. Well, the incumbant mayor was loosing the election so he pulled what many other have said has happened. He started by emptying the treasury, then made the city a manufacturing zone, and increased taxes to the maximum. When it finally became clear that we were not going to withdraw our votes and he was going to loose he destroyed the town hall.

Now it's not the end of the world because we replaced the city hall and we're just going to have to start over again. However, other people have said that this is a form of griefing and that we could report him to the CSRs. Is this true? The only problem may be that I don't think anyone saved logs of what was going on at the time so would it be possible to still report him? He destroyed the town on Firday (1/9/04) so have we waited too long already to do anything?

Even if we have no recourse, I want to throw my vote in for needing safeguards against this. We had a level 3 player city and now we have only an outpost with not so much as a lamppost. We can certainly rebuild, but with the city caps, we may end up being limited to level 2 or even 1 because of this guys actions. The mayor certainly needs the ability to restructure the town, but the power to pull up everything, take all the money,and destroy the city hall is out of control.

it is lame.. your old poly should have taken it with good grace, realised that this is just a game congratulated the winner, untrained the poly skill tree and trained novice something else...

he gets upset and in a fit of rage blows up the city... well my guess is that he may as well change servers and start again with a new name because i doubt he made any new friends this day.

this is an issue that has been brought up with our corispondent who from memory, has or is taking it up with the devs. hopefully they will have better way to blow up a city soon, a way that has a cooling off period or needs a majority vote/ referendum or something so that others do not have to go through what you have.
