--I had the good fortune to get to chat with CSR Christopher C concerning the city tax problem and learned quite a few interesting things.
1) Property tax dribbles in every maintenance tick (30 minutes)
2) Sales taxes come in when there is a sale
3) Head taxes are collected MONTHLY (not weekly)
Also, CSR was not sure if setting the head tax at 2K (which is my city tax rate) meant 2K per week or 2K per month.
He further stated he didn't have access to any accounting of the treasury income.
When I pointed out that this information (monthly not weekly head tax) needed to be made officially known he said an amusing thing......we should talk to the devs.
Oh yes, if your citizen is broke you don't collect any head tax.
And when is the monthly collection? Is the timing based on city maintenance schedule or citizen registratiion date? Dunno about that, ask the devs.
Personally, I have observed a severe drop in our treasury these past three weeks. Something smells fishy.

My alts have been paying weekly head tax, so I'm not sure on what ChristopherC is saying, there.
Shuttleport fee goes in when there is a purchase, I know that.

My alt also pays weekly ... so, as always, CSRs seam to be very poorly informed or have their own little rumors.
Also just recently there was a post about communication with a CSR that had really a lot of insight into the treasury.

one thing that would be nice to add concerning the taxes is a weekly email stating exaclty how many taxes the city has made and from what. That way we can properly raise or lower taxes as needed. Also was there not an email received when citites were first introduced that stated such and such an individual had not paid taxes? What ever happened to that or am I freaking out?

... but its still bugged... sales taxes currently are added to items posted by the crafter... but then immediately go into the crafter's pocket...

I wouldn't worry about it. If you need more money, raise taxes. If you need less money lower taxes. The profession is called Politician not Accountant. It's playable - not broken. I grant you that it doesn't all work right, but none of it is a gamebreaker.
As for christopherC. I had so many dumbass answers from that guy that I always resubmit any ticket that he answers. He'sa lazy ass that doesn't want to work. He gives you crap answers where he claims to be able to do nothing about it, so he won't have to.
