--After tracking my treasury for a week, I have come to the conclusion that taxes are now dribbling in bit by bit. Over a weeks time, beginning at maintenance, my city income was 95,462. This accounts for 42 citizens X 2K per each = 84K, as well as appx 11K for sales tax, property taxes, etc.

--Each day the treasury showed some funds coming in, and I know I didn't spend anything on new items.

--The highest amount in the treasury was just prior to maintenance being paid.

--Now, I don't know if something was "fixed" due to my ticket and discussion with CSR, or if the system has changed to the "dribble in" system, or if in fact I had3 weeks with no income (as I continue to suspect......my shortfall is about 70K per week, and yet in 3 weeks my treasury dropped 500K!!!!)

--On the question or confusion on the part of the CSR about personal taxes, it does appear they are paid weekly, not monthly.

--Many of us have to depend on donations, and we try and advise our citizens of what is required,. It is tempting to put in a lot of stuff and risk bankrupting the city, and I suspect that has happened in some cases. Without accounting information it is mighty difficult to plan what kinds of amenities can be provided.

--Player cities was supposed to be one of the "crowning jewels" of SWG. Other MMORPG's have seen players trying informally to form cities, and in fact my city is home to a group of folks who have played together for over five years in UO and SWG. We have been quite frugal, and survived first the Rebels splitting off to form their own city, then the hard core PVP folks forming their own city. Some of our leading citizens have made sizeable donations (so they say, and the treasury has a surplus, but how can I tell for sure??) All in all we like the idea of our own city, but I got to tell you, it's getting real old constantly begging for donations.

--I am one of those who wasted 77 skill points on Master Politician, and I still have it. I realize the concept of the "gold sink" is necessary to drain funds out of the economy, and I support that. Yet there should be SOME benefit to attaining (and KEEPING) Master Politician. The most obvious benefit to me would be a reduction in city Maintenance costs if the mayor is, right now, at this moment, a Master Politician.

--also, MP should take the place of one of the hidden professions necessary to unlock a force sensitive slot......heh heh...sort of a "wild care" profession....
