For the first 2 months, the profession was ok...some skills to learn, some specials to try - but now where more and more politicians become Master its getting frustrating. Nothing in the Master-Box, half of the skill-boxes are just specialisations and no way for us to use this skill. Its getting boring. All Decorations have been set, all taxes have been set (and resetted by the game) and all specialisations have been tried.

All structures have been set and all City-Halls are well decorated (in midian we´ve got a nic pool-room for chilling after a hard politicians-day ingame)

When are you going to give us some abilities?

Your ability is the ability to interact with others and help them build a thriving community that makes their gaming experience even more fun - what more could you ask for?

Something to do.

I can talk to people without skill points, why do we need to spend skill points to talk to people?

I'm currently trying to extract myself from my Metropolis so I can go found a second city elsewhere. Maybe when my next city hits a decent level the game will have something for me to do, until then I'll just go around founding cities.

Toran, as you probably know, this was the politician community's number one issue on the most recent top-five list submitted to the devs. The good news is that we've been able to communicate this message to the devs loud and clear. The bad news, and we are still awaiting a response to our top-five so this is just my opinion and we may be in for a happy surprise from the devs, is that anything like new abilities, new skills, new features, are loooooooonnnnnng term projects.

There is a big combat re-design coming out, which affects all of the combat professions, all of the MOBs, weapons, and other combat elements of the game. You have a big outcry to improve the GCW element of the game which touches almost all players. You also have professions that feel as though they are still mostly broken, like droid engineers.

As politicians, we have issues, we don't have as many abilities as we would like, as much on-going gameplay potential as we would like, and we have bugs, but player cities are working, even with those bugs, and the main focus of the politician is on facilitating the building of those cities. We should continue to demand bug fixes anddraw attention to balance issues such as some of the specialization costs and those things should be on a shorter-term schedule. But while we will work to keep the devs aware that we are not yet satisfied with our skill-tree, much of that kind of work is going to be long term.

I think the main problem is, that the politician is a profession just designed for the city-update. it was important to fix the main problems (zoningrights, taxes, militia, structures, decorations) - there was no big plan for anything else than that.

Now with announcement of big changes in GCW, they could make our profession more interesting. Like Terminals we could "slice" to reclaim a NPC-city or anything else. There could be special Missions compare to the BountyHunters for example(instead of weapons intelectual skills).

I dont think that anyone of you Politicians is completely satisfied with our abilities. Sure, it is a mayor role to communicate with citizens and talk about their problems, but after a few days, the problems are getting fixed, and then its starting again.

The GCW-Change could be a first step to give this profession a deeper sense.

I think a better word would have been should. The GCW change Should have been the first step to improving the politician profession, but it looks like only combat professions are getting any love with that. i read that one of the new features would be contraban. items that were ilegal and could get you into trouble for being caught with them by an Imperial NPC. why not add a lobbing feature somehow allowing us politicians to lobby for items to be removed/added to the list. That would add something fun we could do that would effect the whole comunity! I can see it now. A galactic e-mail sent out to everyone saying:

"prop 11232 passed outlawing tatooine sunburns on any planet but tatooine. The initiative was lead by <insert politician name here>. Politicians from <Insert player city names here> Voted to approve the prop and Politicians from <Insert player city names here> Voted against it. "

Then we could vote out politicians that causes our favotite items to get banned. would add more of a political feel to the game.
