Thread: Inactive Citizens Removed After 3 Weeks?

I just finished reading the proposed up-date notes.
"Citizens will now be removed from a city if they haven't been online for about 3 weeks."
So for all those cities that were created largely from cross server swaps, it looks pretty grim.
Will the "Removed" players house get removed with them? Since it is common practice to load houses with up to a year of maintenance, I foresee cities completlyclogged up with "dead" house as their owners loose interest in the game. There is a pretty high turn over of players in this game, andcleaning up ones house prior to canceling an account would not be very high on a person's prioity list.
Additionally, keeping track of what houses in a city represent viable citizens will be a huge headache. Politician is a class that pretty much goes dormant once their city is completed. This rule will just make citymanagement a huge drag, and a time sink. Much of my play time will now be consumed with touring the town to see if a citizen was lost because his house *poofed* or if he hadn't been online.
With this new rule, players need to be able to querry other player's stats to see when they last logged on, so they can anticipate when a player is about to be removed from the city.
I don't like this new rule one bit, but perhaps it will mix up the number of metros and cause a few to go down the pisser, thus making room for new cities to advance.

not the best of titles, but this is where the issue is being talked about by all.

And the newest version (Message Edited by Vandessa on 01-22-2004 07:06 PM) apparently states it is a time periode of 6 weeks
