Thread: Manufacturing Center Specialization Test

I ran two tests both inside the city with manufacturing center and outside. I used both good (+14 tool effectiveness) and bad (-12 tool effectiveness) crafting tools, but because results where almost identical with both of them, I will only post info on the bad tool. I also used the worst steel that I could find in my inventory for this test in hopes that it will be easier to see manufacturing center effects (I also ran one experiment with best phrik aluminum that I have with OQ 998, but results where identical inside the city and outside). I made a run of 20 combinations each time. Metal used in both test: Cubirian Steel (189,162,606,723,86,293,618,508). I’m currently master armorsmith and only have engineering line in artisan.

Test #1: (Armor Repair Tool)
Inside:
Amazing success – 3, Great success – 15, Good Success – 1, Moderate Success – 1
Outside: Amazing success – 2, Great success – 13, Good Success – 2, Moderate Success – 3

Test #2: (Mabari Armorweave Segment)
Inside:
Amazing success – 4, Great success – 16
Outside: Amazing success – 0, Great success – 19, Crit. Failure – 1

As you can see difference between inside and outside is not that big, but it might be worth it for some crafters who only wants the best results if not for one thing. Both good, great and amazing successes give the same result, for armor repair tool I was getting 2% on good, great and amazing and 1% on moderate success, for armorweave segment it was 4%/4%/9% for good, great and amazing.

Even though the sample size is quite small, Those results seem pretty significant to me

Isn't the manufacturing center supposed to only have an influence on the amount of critical failures one gets (lowering critical failures by 10%)?

Why does this specialisation give more amazing results?

As far as I understand manufacturing center works the same way as research center does, but it affects assembly, not experimentation.

Sorry for a small sample data, I didn't have much time to test it, but at least it gives some idea on how manufacturing center works.

Do you have to be a member of the city to reap these bonuses? Or can anyone show up and get them?

As far as I know you don't have to becitizen, just in the city radius
