I thought it was 450, and yes there will always be a strip between cities.

The Maximum radius for a city is in fact 450m (Metropolis) and 1km is the closest to cities can be to ensure at least a 100m gap at maximum radius.

So, your city will not be encroached upon, but you guys are sure going to have fun raiding each other!

Quick question, I am the mayor of a Reb city on Lok (wonderhome) some imps decided to setup a city very close to us, 1km away to be exact. Now, it seems that max radius is 400m so at all times there will be at least a 100m gap between us. Is this the case?

Or do I need to be worried about growing faster then them so they dont squeeze us out?

Max radius is 400m, so you're close - there will always be a 200m gap between you, even if you both hit metropolis.
