I just became a politician, and am setting up the city today. However, my guild is already breathing down my neck to get political xp. I've seen that getting (re)elected gets you xp, but I'd like to know everything i can do to get more politic xp. Will cityban/citypardon macro work? how about permission to place buildings? Thanks for the help

There is no way to grind Politician XP. You get experience for one thing, and one thing only - votes. If you want to advance faster, the only way to do so is to have more people vote for you. Even then the XP is only applied when the vote is taken, which is once a week.

Sorry, I'm afraid you and your guildies are out of luck. The ONLY way to get xp is by having registered citizens of your city vote for you each and every week. Well, technically they don't have to vote since they automagically vote for the current mayor, but that's another topic altogether.

You can place gardens, ban and pardon, grant zoning rights, kiss babies and or @ss all you want but the xp meter won't budge until election time.
