Honestly I'm not sure. Most people are asking for an option that the mayor can use to step down from office. I would suggest not having the old mayor sell back his politician points or leave residency of the City Hall. Either of those might lead in the destruction of the City Hall and your city.

Hi. Good luck on your quest to become a mayor!

Becoming a Mayor is only really a problem in cities that have lots of ghost citizens - in which case the city has caused this problem for itself and don't expect to get a lot of help fixing it.

If that is NOT the case, all that needs to happen is for the existing mayor to ask all the citizens to vote for you, the person that wants to become mayor and when you have a majority of votes you will become mayor. The existing mayor just needs to send an emailwith 'citizens' in the TO field and then every in the city will get it.

Of course, if the city is filled with ghost citizens who do not really exist, then this will not help. You will just have to wait until those citizens disappear (hopefully with the next patch!) and then get the real remaining citizens to vote for you, and you will be in.

Have fun - being a mayor is great!

Crap like this is why Galdor may be smaller than I'd like (59 folk as of last night) but we have no true "ghost" citizens. Yes, there are people who are no longer playing, but even if we have admin to their houses, we are going to let them go "poof".

Sending an email to "citizens" and actually having a majority respond is a GOOD feeling.

Has any mayor picked up their house and moved to a different city and declared?

that happen to me.. we just recruit the needed people (in your case 4 people) to break the tie...

its tough.. but you can get it going... (then again I shouldn't change office during the holidays.... people are usually not in town during holidays) silly me.
