Thread: Possible New Politician in the making....(Questions Inside)

I am completely oblivious to most mayoral decisions and duties, so I thought I would ask a few questions, and make a decision on the politician role. I wish to either create a new city, or assume responsibility of a current city whose mayor no longer wishes to be mayor. This said, my questions are as follows.


1 - The wish to move, and/or create a city evolves from our crafter's wish for the 15% bonus to experimentation. I know a 4xxx politician is required for research center. What level city is required to acheive a research center?


2 -Do city specialzation changes mandate a vote, or does the mayor decide? If the mayor decides, I assume this allows mayors to change it at will.


Depending on the answer to number 1, My guild may have to move into a city, due to city caps. Thank you for your assistance.

1- City specialization is not a rank requirement, only a Politician skill requirement.

2- The mayor decides. In fact, the mayor decides all things related to the city. Although you are elected, once in office you are essentially a dictator until you are removed from office. Only the mayor can appoint militia, set taxes, name the city/change name, set the specialization or place civic structures. The only actions that can be taken by other than the mayor are via the militia. Militia cangrant zoning rights and use city bans.
