the naboo and generic mediums aren't any kind of xploit....they naturally fit together like they do. Did devs forseee how they could be used...probably not, but they don't break any rules. The naboo mediums make nice squares also. When it's not an exploit, i find it hard for the devs to change it, with houses currently already in place while breaking no rules.

I'm going to try to get TH to go look at preciselyhow this fitting of houses together to make a wall works, so that he can experience it first hand, himself.

I'll update you if I get any clarification from TH. If the devs are going to start going around citing everyone with walls built from medium houses, they are going to have a lot of exploiters to ban.

I'd suspect it would just be CSR's "forcing" people to do it. If you want I'd suggest showing TH a few cities in lockdown and a few cities that look beautiful thanks to the wall exploit. That way he can get a good view of both sides.

This is correct. If you place houses within their normal build pattern, thats fine, but if you squeeze them in and jam them together to form a wall, thats not acceptable.

vauge? impacting urban planners all over your galaxy? potentially. where is the line drawn in regards to connecting houses being an obstruction? your guess is as good as mine. my apologies if this is old news, but i thought some of you who might have no interest in the GCW but still lock naboo mediums together for asthetic purposes might think this is as rediculous as i do.

It is both old and new. The same was said back on the old boards but since we can't link to them or anything that evidence is no longer worthwhile and people just ignore you. Now we know that the devs are actually standing by that statement and something may be done about it. Personally I think that is for the best, I don't see where having a yard is not aesthetically pleasing. Now if we had actual walls this wouldn't be needed.

I hardly think it classifies as an exploit, considering that the floorplan/footprints clearly show how it all fits together. If the medium naboo was supposed to be 4x5 and not as it is now 3x4 then that is a bug with the system, and a mistake on the developers part. Itsnot the players fault that they are doing something that seems natural to the system. I know plenty of new people to the game that think its just meant to be like that, you can blame them. This whole thing islike saying "Never put down houses so that their footprints touch!".... err, well we can, so if you don't want it, make the systemdisallow it.

Seriously the walls aren't that big of a problem either, I flew straight through a wall of 5 medium naboos the other day, and I literally mean straight through. You can also /unstick yourself through them. Personally I find the walls annoying more than anything, in my city we put the medium naboosone square apart both front and back so that you could getbetween them without any hassle.

I haven't tried it but you could probably buy city decorations down to form walls as well, albeit small ones... try putting fountains or statues together...

It'd be interesting to see them force me to move about 100 houses in my city, we'd have a disaster on our hands

The other problem is streetlamps... believe it or not, you can use streelamps to fill in the gaps and wall places off (could probably even deny access to the city hall with these).

It seems to that this is no exploit since certain naboo and generic houses are DESIGNED to interlock. Is there a staggering approach of different house types that is at issue?

But if the houses are designed to interlock how can this be an exploit

Our Garden district are all med naboo.. we have out little wall in cantina, bank, and cloning (kinda circle feel) our faction is WAY far on the other side of town.. so I personally don't see as an exploit...

TH was just baited by the misleading words in the original post: "circumvent the no-build radius". The existing walls are for the most part completely natural, as they are simply medium houses, placed (to use TH's terminology directly) "within the normal build pattern" of those structures. So the comment is not prohibitive in that respect.

That "bug" text should be revised (and TH needs to investigate those Medium house footprints to see for himself that there is no exploit/manipulation required, and *then* decide if those footprints need revision).

The thing is that back before anyone could play this game the dev's stated that there will always be a forced alley between homes. Now the fact that this doesn't exist for some houses makes it a bug and using it for your advantage an exploit. I'm not calling you all griefers that deserve to be banned, however you are using the game in a way that was not originally intended. Personally I feel they are fine in moderation, however on Bloodfin there is a town that uses the Naboo homes to wall in their faction bases so that the only entrance involves several dozen minefields. Essentially griefing imperials from not being able to attack that base. It can be used to grief and as such something should be changed. Maybe only allow it to be 5 homes in a row like that? I don't know.

i belive this is all refer to the non med ginerics and naboos......i think they are talking about being able to place one building in the foot pront of anopther building making them clip into each other....ive seen it on my server many times.....all over as a matter of fact....you get kinda a townhome effect....4 large naboos overlaping and cliping onto each other....no allyes between them....and lloking like a town home......

its a blatint expolit.there are no building in this game that let you just overlap them and clip them together.the med ginerics will let you place them side by side with an ally that is to narrow to get threw but the wall of one dosnt overlap the wall of another.

persinaly id like to see alll thoes citys buildings be forced to there original foot print....and them watch as the loose there rank becouse they used larges for the first radious of there city, and by over laping them made the 20 inside the circle.

but im just an evil sumbitch like that

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

you cant say that that isnt valid thoe...there using the foot print the devs made. unless there doing what im talking about and what TH is refering to and OVER LAPING THE FOOT PRINTS....and geting the "townhome" effect.using meds to encircle a bace and make one gateway in = fine.....using meds to make a wall with noway in = not fine.overlaping foot prints of bulidings with buildings = not cool
