The city cap rule is probably on the money. Add more cities and you will only add more ghost towns. And the inactive citizenship rule is a farce - it's not fixing anything concerning planet overcrowding.

If anything,Isaycities who have made it to Metropolis and stayed for an extended period of time - showing active trainers, shuttle, garage, and mission terminals - shoud be allowed to grow even more. We need more room for more guilds to move in. Give us a LARGE theater, arches and bridges, more decorations. Give us the ability to place ALL the trainers - and expand our land even more.

Going from City or Metropolis didn't really give us THAT much more room. And active cities are what the Devs want, right?

Anyone else think the growth from level 4 to level 5 was short changed?

Yes 400 - 450 was a small jump but I think the growth of the boarder may be a problem on some servers but not on others. Vaclyn biggest city is only 132 people so it should have plenty of room if my 95 city is anything to go by. If on other servers cities have reached 200+ I can see them wanting an increase.

Since the coding in the game limits city halls being no less than 1000m for each other, I don't see player cities being granted more land. Current radius for cities is just fine.

Instead of land growth, maybe other benefits. An unique statue or garden for those that have maintained tier V after so many months or grant a few more trainers to place or decorations, but this should be granted to cities that are highly active (to prevent cross-server exchanges to achieve this). Again, more coding to compute this.

Don't see it happening.

I think it would be nice to have more city ranks.

170 people Megapolis 550m

340 people have no idea what to call it 600m

Problem is as the other poster said, if there is a near by city or a POI you may run into a no build zone and be screwed.

What I think we really need is new city only housing that lets us condense population. Give us vertical row houses that are 3 or 4 stories tall. A large house with the footprint of a medium, a medium with the footprint of a small. Make them buildable much closer together, just enough space in between so that a person/speeder can fit through. Let us transform our cities into true metropolitan areas.

Cities can't grow past 450M, nor should they.

There are too many aspects of various city plans that were based on the 450M radius. These would include, but are not limited to:

Outlying areas of large cities are very dense with industrial structures and PA halls.
Cities are too close, and would overlap other cities.
Cities were built in corners and next to other "Non-buildable" locations like NPC Cities.

For these reasons, existing metros would not benefit a whole bunch from an expanded radius. Also, how do you figure the jump from 400 to 450 was not significant? That was a 27% increase in area for the city. HUGE!

Like some real life cities, the option to expand outward is not feasible. So like RL cities, let us expand UP! Give us multi resident dwelings like high-rise appartments. Give us subterrainian expansion. This, of course, is a pure pipe-dream, and would not be nearly as simple to code as the increaded radius plan, but I believe it's more fun to consider.

Perhaps some of the buildings in cities like Keren or Theed could be used as examples of new building types, regardless of city size. Some of them have interior doors and things working in them already, you just can't access them.

So,perhaps they mean to implement them as buildable structures in the future. If so, you'll have your tall buildings for your city someday.

More ideas...

  • Cities that stay at Metropolis for two months - gets paved streets! Yea!

  • Every month you are a still a metropolis you get a new unique statue, garden, bridge, arch - something.

  • A REAL Theater to place

  • Mall, Hotel, etc - something to show up on the planet map.

  • A REAL Bazaar Terminal - YEA!!!

I think they should add tall buildings that held multiple residents, such as apartments. You could fit many more people inside the same amount of area, and it would be more dense. 20, 50, 100 people in a skyscraper would be awesome.

In Real Life... if you can't build out, you build up... now, devs have said apartments as we proposed are not possible, but heres an idea. When placing your house, you place next to another, you cannot build partially on one. So: with certian buildings, of the same planet and style: face the building the same way, and position it on top of another building. It auto-adapts to fit, since its of the same type, and has outside transportation to the house above. This should require permission.
