Thread: The point of politician?
Greetings! I am Dustwel, Mayor of Arch Mesa.
I have been mayor of Arch Mesa of Briafor about 3 months. Arch Mesa is a first-gen city, and we have been around for a long time. Our first mayor quit the game, and I took his spot. I am now a 2424 politician, and I have been wondering: is there any point to holding the politician profession? I see that at master, you get no benefits whatsoever. I have done basically all there is to do in that profession. I have created a local government complete with filled positions, organized our town commerce, sent our town through a beautification process, set up bi-monthy meetings in sets of two so both the americans and europeans can attend. We have a cantina, theatre, medical center, shuttleport, bank, garage, loads of gardens of all types, We have max trainers, mission terminals of all types, everything, basically. But now, I am faced with a few things. First of all, my character is severely limited. I am a doctor, and always will be a doctor. I can only barely dabble in another profession. Now, my only jobs left are to grant zoning rights, and manage whichever trainers are most currently demanded by the citizens. Our town is in enough order that there is rarely conflict, and our town is very peaceful and cooperative. But I was wondering, what is my incentive to be a master politican? I could just as easily drop back down to novice and do everything except manage terminals and trainers. Is there any upcoming benefits for master politicians? Any reason I'd want to hold onto it? If not, I'd rather go back to doctor/master brawler profession.
Thanks in advance for any help!
Dustwel

MASTER IT keep it and be the mayor. If Skillpoints are your concern, and more of a priority, then hand Mayor over to someone else more dedicated. Im not trying to flame you friend. It sounds like you have a really great city. The reward for mastering poli is that when you wear that master tile above your head, you show others the dedication you have for your city and citizens. The Poli profession is not a "whats in it for me?" profession.
Have a goodday and grats on your city doing so well!

I think there are a few politicians that would love to hand over the duty to someone else, but I will guarantee there isn't alot of competition out there to be a mayor of city.
