The once well tanned and toned figure shuffles toward a small group gathered at the steps of the City Hall. It appears the mayor has not kept himself well the days he has spent away on Coruscant. With pasty skin and a physique now bordering on the obese, he does not appear at all himself.

With matted hair and eyes slightly glazed, he forces his concentration toward the group that is in a deep discussion about the recent events surrounding the city. Rumor swirls of inpropriety and embezzlement.

"I don't know what you may be implying with remarks like that", Theodis says directing his scorn in Wachu's direction, "but this city is under siege."

Alhtough there is no smell of alcohol, the mayor staggers back a step as if to ready himself to speak further. Leaning in toward the group, he turns his gaze toward Hurricane.

"Several merchant houses have infiltrated the city already. As the largest independent city in the galaxy, many wealthy families are now eyeing the crown jewel! I've asked some of my friends from Coruscant to get to the bottom of all of this. To get this city back on track!"

The spittle on his scraggly beard glistens in the midday sun as he addresses the small group as one.

"While you have all been going about your regular day-to-day activities the City has been splintering into several allegiences. I do not yet know who these insurgent leaders are, or what they think they are doing, but if we don't wake up soon, Apotheon will come crashing down around you."

Clearly spent from the vocal exchange, Theodis lift his gaze north lost in thought for a moment. Then, as if the group were not even there, he shuffles off through the center of the small crowd toward the shuttleport...

Background:

The mayor of Apotheon, Theodis Darkstar, has been noticebly absent from the metropolis for several months. Away on business on Coruscant, the mayor has allowed a power vaccuum to be created. In his absence merchant houses have moved in and have begun to build support to take control of the largest neutral metropolis in the galaxy!

Do you have what it takes to build the greatest Merchant house in the galaxy?!

As a lame duck mayor, Theodis will be happy to add you oryour guild to the city through the months of April and May. Providing you have a Politician that can represent you or your guild, you have a choice to declare you or your guild a 'Merchant House'.

A Merchant house will be able to leverage the City message boards at http://www.summer.org/swg and seek to gain favor and swing votes to take control of the city. We expect 3-5 strong houses to arise from this chaos and Theodis will NOT be leading one of them! Theodis will try to retain power as long as possible though and will do this by keeping to the rules of the game and the spirit and intent of the scenario you are reading now.

Although Rebel and Imperial groups are not disallowed, the focus on Apotheon is one of trade and wealth creation in a neutral setting.
