Thread: What can a mayor do to a resident he is mad at?

A friend of my mine ran into a problem with the mayor of his city. This mayor is nowtellinghimthat not moving out ofa citywhen ordered to by the mayor of thatcity is called "Blocking" and is a bannable offense. I have never heard such a thing before, and a couple quick searches through the forums provide no evidence to support this, but I would like to verify that I am giving good advice when I tell him that he does not, in fact, have to move out of the city when ordered to by the mayor. It doesn't make any sense to me, how could an incumbent mayor ever be defeated if all he had to do was order opponents out of town when they tried to run against him? But this begs more questions, what methods does the mayor have available to continue griefing this guy if he does stay? Can a mayor cityban a resident? Can he be banned from City Hall to keep him from being able to vote? Please advise.

There is absolutely nothing the mayor can do to oust a resident - and when I mean nothing, I do mean nothing. The resident can't be banned from the game for not leaving, and really is safe from anything that the Mayor can do to them. And in this case the Mayor concerned is talking through his proverbial and can be quite happily ignored .

If the mayor places a structure in front of the guys house, this is considered a griefing tactic by the CSRs and the player can request for the structure to be removed (which the CSRs will do very quickly, as they will also be very quick to issue a warning to the player who placed the structure).

The resident can't be banned from any player city structures (such as the city hall, the shuttleport, etc), can't be "kicked out of town", or have any other actions taken against them.

In a sentence, they are safe.

He can appologize, and beg that resident not to grief other residents, because anything the mayor tries to do to maintain peace and order in his/her city will result in the mayor's account being banned.

Wait a second you can't place structures in front of other peoples houses? Because I have some staues made to say:Please contact the mayor.

I have some houses that need to be moved and they never respond to mails and I'm not sure if they still play or not. I want to use the staues to contact the player and make them understand I want to speak with them.

The mayor has only one power: The ability to eliminate the city. That'll fix that ol' bad resident what good!

Mayors = powerless to deal with griefers.

Whilst you can place a statue or a structure in front of their house, you cannot place it in such a way as it blocks the access to the house (ie, at the entrance to the ramp to the door). That's considered a griefing tactic.

There was a great post before about a mayor who placed statues named for the griefer's faults all around their house, effectively blocking it from view but not access.
