Almost all professions out there have some form of making money. Doctors sell buffs and heals. Crafters craft items to sell. Dancers entertain and get tips. Fighters take on missions.
Politician doesn't get pay anything and on top of it, in some cases have to put in their own money to help with the city. It would be nice if
1) Mission Terminals in city gives payment to city
2) Allow a new structure called "MALL" in the city where we could set taxes on them w/o affecting the entire city
3) Cantina, Medical Building, etc is part of the city structure and don't take up lots. Then we could enact some form of entry fee on them
Any other thoughts?

In the past, I haven't minded paying the city maintanence, but now with the bugged solo missions.....I'm used to make an 200k an hour running caveman missions. Now, the payouts are bugged and I make about half that. It's still only a matter of a couple of hours work, plus I have people that donate. I still wish there were better ways to generate money for cities. Without donations, I wonder how many cities books are in the black.

Yeah it is hard. I like the fact trying to the keep the city tax free. But it would be nice to implement rent tax on city structure, such as a City Mall or something like that. We want the resident to live happy at the same time maintain it well.
While donation is good, it is not the best solution. There has to be a better way.

I have no problem at all being a broke mayor My average bank account is 20k or so.
When i need something i just go grind missions for an evening untill I have enough cash to buy what I need.
Unlike other games ive played (EQ) Money isnt everything in this game.
My pay is the compliments and smiles and hugsI recieve in return for being at my 100% best service as Mayor.
My pay is the SATIFACTION of knowing how willingmy residents are willing to volentarliy dump cash into the treasury
because they want to. Thus maling it so that I dont have to take money from them.
10mill in treasury and climbing! And I would not except any of it as pay. Once I start not enjoying what Im doing...that when I step down. In fact even when I reciev cash for houses that I give to folks, that cash goes to the treasury. DONT PAY ME!!!!

For me money is not an issue, esp when WS is my primary line of work
. Just that many people take politician as their primary line of work. When purchase for item for the city, i don't dip at all into the city treasury and use my own funds to purchase it.
Not many mayor out there have that luxury and must dip into the treasury fund. Travel cost money, clothing & armor cost money, etc cost money.
While doing mission is great, it does take a toll out of a Mayor time away from focus on the city. I am not looking for a large incentive by some form of incentive for Mayor. Have a scale system and those mayor who have lots of money could activate a function where that money go back into the city treasury. How much a mayor get paid could be determined by "x"% of the city maintence cost per week. If he choose to opt out, a function will allow the mayor to dump that directly back into the city treasury.
Just a thought.

The best way I belive is an idea I had where we can have Universties and you place your trainers inside.
Entrance fee can go strait to thecity and then you have the trainers as ussual.
And for themayor making money Iguess you can havea salary. But it does sound bad. I mean if I asked my city (who everyone is rich anyways) for 50k a week I will be hung.

The university idea is good only if they remove all the elite trainer from main cities in the next patch. Thus making player city the only location of elite trainers.
With that in mind, if you take it another level, practice crafting in a university yield an additional 10% - 15% bonus in XP, making it very worth while to charge entrance fee!!
