Thread: Is this typical

Our guild founded a city on January 7th, 2005. When we founded the city we had 22 members, who all voted that first time to help our brand new mayor level up. Since that time we have maintained between 25 and 30 citizens, right now we have 28. But as time has passed about half of those people are inactive at any one given time. Each month we have 14 to 16 people vote in the elections. We are now approaching our six month anniversary and our mayor still has not mastered. She is 4.4.2.0 with not enough XP banked to get another box.

It is kind of silly, I know politican doesn't require skill points any more but one would think that after six months even a small city should be able tolevel up their mayor.

By comparison, when we started we had one person in the guidl with a new Jedi, still working on being leveled (he started working on Jedi over Thanksgiving). Now he is finished with his template, 4 more people in the guild have Jedi and of those 4, 3 are near completion and 1 is about 1/2 way done. Yet our mayor is just over 1/2 way done.

It just strikes me as odd that we can level out 3 full Jedi templates, finish off a 4th, and get about 1/2 through a 5th Jedi template in the same amount of time that we have mananged to get our mayor 1/2 done with her skills.

Is this typical?

Whether it be Typical or not, I think the xp for politician is extremely slow, and it should be that we should get at least 1500 xp per week, since this is a NO grind profession and the Mayors are solely dependent on their citizens for the xp, when some of them go inactive or quit the game, or real life happens and the xp can not be collected, that's when the devs need to step is and say, "Ok, they can't grind this xp, we have to give them something else"....give us More xp per vote and more xp per week, and take out that stupid, rank system....if you can train a box that tells you that you can register your city only to be let down with the system message that says you must be a Rank 3 in order to do this...that's just a bunch of crap.

I just started my city on the 9th of this month, and I cringed when you said it's been 6 months...Ouch and hug your mayor for me.

Good luck to all of you, and I seriousely hope the devs take a long hard look at what we go through.

It is frustrating. Last week I was pushing for people to vote that hadn't been on in a while and some guildies started to get on me for bugging them. They were under the impression that our mayor was a master it has been so long now and when I told the she still had 6 boxes to go they were amazed that something we had been consistantly working after all this time had earned us so little experience.

Originally we had planned on leveling the mayor up then pushing recruitment up for levels 3 and 4 so that as we gained citizens we could immediatly upgrade the city with the needed advancements but this plan has fallen to the wayside considering how long it is taking. If we were level 3 we could declare city specialization, we have a garage, but we still couldn't drop a med center, cantina or cloning center even if we had the people to support the city of the required level. We are in the black hole of cities. New citizens level because we don't have a shuttle/med center/cloning center. So every month we recruit new people, get them to vote and watch them leave as the city still has not advanced enough for the improvements they want to have.

Ugggghhhhh.

The speed is very typical. I took over running my city after we had 100+ citizens in January, and just mastered about a week ago. The climb is far too slow, IMO.

our city has a lot of inactives, if I push them I can get maybe 5 votes out of the 67 citizens, but they forget to vote again the next week, regardless with every email I send out I remind them. =\

Ouch to all of you and I'm sorry to hear about that.

I do believe that the devs need to seriousely Look at our profession, because of stories like yours.

The Xp is way to slow and for those that aren't getting their citizens to vote, they are losing out on the xp.

I wish the devs would read all these posts and change the xp...give us more xp per week, and more xp per vote.

Heaven knows this isn't how it's done in rl.

I hate to be the "downer" but i kind of like how long it takes because:

1) I had to do it lol

2) Without the proff using SP anymore there needs to be something to keep every player out there from doing the proff just so they can say they are a master poli, even though we worked for it and they didn't. I did poli before they took the sp requirment away because its the best proff in swg lol (and chef too!).

Wow, am I jealous. I have 4 votes in a city of 90 people. That might have something to do with the fact that I'm not campaigning this election, as the current Mayor is quietly stepping aside, but still.....I think the highest we've ever gotten in an election was 20 people voting.

Well maybe I've just managed to get a great bunch of people, but we have 60 citizens and I'm sitting with 41 votes, and 4 votes are going to my 2 challengers. And I'm thinking the other 15 are mostly from inactives. I don't mind at all how long its taking, but I guess in a small city it might be a little rougher.
