An incumbent mayor can place an object in front of or on top of the voting terminal, resulting in a "cant see that object" message for anyone trying to vote. Since no one can vote, and the Incumbent mayor gets votes by default, they can keep themself from ever getting voted out.

A mayor on my server has used this tactic to protect himself from being elected out of office.

Plinka posted way back that you can still vote if you go into first person view my using yoru mouse scroll or however else you zoom into first person view.

But still, the mayor shouldn't be even trying to do this....

Actually you can still do this if you use enough junk ontop of the terminal, but you will get a visit by a CSR.

If you are a good mayor you should have no worries about people voting against you.

This is more of a 'decorative feature' then an exploit, unless your purposely doing it to prevent noobs who dont know about this from voting.

This is another reason why all objects in buildings will stay non-solid.

Howdy.....

I havent checked yet but I thought I read in the new patch that you can now move the voting terminal.... If so, this could potentially be used as a way to hide the voting terminal now.. If you load up your city hall with a LOT of items then I guess some one like the guy you mentioned could keep moving it around and putting it into other objects. Again, Im not sure that it possible but I will check later tonite.

No, that referred to the craftable voting terminals. The only way to remove them for a long time was to push them into a wall. Now their movement and removal capabilities have been fixed.

The only reason I'd ever cover the terminal up is that it isn't properly centered. Dang it! To solve the issue, I just made a Ballot Box and stuck it to the right of the terminal so that the pair was centered
