Thread: How I got the missing Politician XP
On 12/12/03, our city processed the weekly update fine, I won the election (according to the system e-mail) but I recieved no political experience for the votes. I knew that this sometimes takes a while for the servers to process, so I waited a day. On the second day there was still no Political XP. On the third day, I wrote a CSR ticket in-game explaining the situation, the date of the vote and how many votes I should have gotten.
This CSR ticket was not responded to on day 4. On Day 5 I started making additions to the ticket asking for help. I recieved a canned response for politician problems with several options. I chose option one, and added a comment to that ticket...as requested...stating again the date of the vote, that I was missing xp, and how many votes I should have recieved.
This got no response on day 6. On day 7 I added 2 comments to the ticket pleading for help.
Well, Day 7 was time for a vote again and I was worried. However, the city update processed fine and I recieved the XP I needed for 12/19/03...but was still missing xp from 12/12/03. Very frustrating.
Day 8 I logged on to find nothing had changed. I added yet another comment to the original CSR ticket. Later in the day when logging back in I stopped at the launcher window and entered the Chat feature. In the general chat room, I was very polite and asked the CSR in there for help. His reply was that I should enter a CSR ticket and would be contacted in game. I explained that I had, and everything that I'd done to date and gotten no help from the CSR's. He said there was nothing he could do and so I told him my character name and server and logged in to the game.
Not 5 minutes in the game and I get e-mail that my CSR ticket has been responded to. I eagerly opened the holocron and ticket and was crushed. The response I got stated that CSR's could do nothing to help me with my missing Politician XP and that if they could help me with nothing further, would I please delete the ticket and enter the information as a /bug. My patience is nearly shredded at this point.
So with what's left of my self-control, I add a comment to this ticket asking Why not? I asked: "Why not? I know for a fact that other politicians in the exact same situation have had political xp corrected by SCR's in game. WHy not mine?"
In another 10 minutes, CSR-JoseO (My first contact with this particular CSR during this ordeal) sends me a /tell. To make a long story short, CSR-JoseO made it all better with minimal fuss. The whole thing took about 2 minutes.
The moral of the story is, of course, "Don't accept a no from someone who isn't empowered to give you a Yes!" In other words, until yo have a CSR tell you in game in a live converstaion that he can't help you...never stop asking. (And never delete you ticket if the issue isn't resolved, just keep adding comments to it. New tickets go to the bottom of the pile.)
CSR-JoseO was teh one that helped me with my political exp too! What a great guy!
He was polite, quick, and very nice to work with. If SOE gives attaboys or pats on the back, this guy DEFINITELY deserves one!
Mine was CSR-Michaelm, who got me fixed up right and much thanks to him for it!
After over a week I eventually had to just log in and stay online all day. You have to be lucky enough to be in when your turn comes up, so i just waited all... day..... long.
Thanks again MichaelM!
