Thread: Mayors please be aware of credit farming in your city
If you see this happening, please send an e-mail with "Credit Farming" somewhere in the subject line to [email protected] and include the character and server names of the suspected credit farmers. If you have a time and general waypoint, include that as well.
That's the general Customer Service e-mail, but I'll see if I can find a more direct e-mail for this kind of issue.
I've already forwarded the link on. I also asked about a public e-mail address to report this kind of thing to.
Uhm, who cares? Honestly. This is the sametechnique listed in another thread in this politician forum as a way to make money for the city. I am not the SOE police and will not ban people from my city for something they may or may not be doing. An exploit requires you to make something happen that was not meant to happen by design, such as credit duping, not afk mission taking. If the devs don't want that to happen they will either nerf group payouts again or kill /follow.
Two additional things:
1) Group payouts do not work when the group members are not in range of the mission. I do not recall what the official range is, butthrough experience I have learned thatif you are more than 300m away from the lair/base you do not get paid when the mission is accomplished. Only the people at the mission get their pay. So, that would mean that 7 of the people are on /follow? LOL!
2) Banning does not prevent someone from taking missions in your town. Banning as it currently is setup is ridiculous and only costs your city and your merchants money as you have prevented a player from shuttling into your town, using your vehicle repair facitly, or cloning at your cloning center. Of course, if your merchants are really well liked by the banned player they may bike into your town and continue to do business. Who really loses in the current ban system? The city does. No more funds from vehicle repairs or shuttle tickets from the banned player. A real city ban would kick the player to the city limits and never permit them to enter. That doesn't help the city with fund issues, but it does innact a real ban against a player that is rude or annoying.
So wait a second here, These guys are getting paid to play a video game? And they tell you a college education is important.
Report them? heck, I want an application! (just kidding, it is horrible, but the true TOS violation is the selling of the credits, actually farming the credits shouldn't be breaking any rules. If we arrested people just because we think they may commit a crime in the future... oh, wait, those daysare gone now huh?) ![]()
This has been happening on a few servers to date and this incident is not necessarily credit farming. It has been reported that certain energetic people are buying several new accounts (say 8), installing them and running the accounts on 8 seperate comp's all set up in their home. Then they run them all together, using missions to 'grind' the toons to Force Sensitive, get them through the Village and to Padawan status, then Ebay the toons.
If you assume they are credit grinding/duping & don't want to ban, that's your choice, personally I am going to 'assume' they are making Ebay toons & ban them.
So far I know of 2 sets of these 'naked' toons being banned in 1 city on the Bria server (husbands city & server) and several sets on Ahazi, in a friends own city.
Hope this helps.
