Thread: I Have a City but No Politician Skills!! HELP!!!

ok yesterday i went out and started a city. my server is known for it's lack of active player cities so it was VERY easy to recruit people. anyhow, in the last 24 hours i have gotten 22 citizens. i am currently a novice politician 0/0/0/0, which is a problem. citizens want things like mission terminals, shuttleport, etc. At the rate we're growing, we'll reach the required population/city rank within the next week but i won't have the skills to place the structures! is there ANY way i can get quicker xp other than waiting on the elections every week? also, do i have to be running against someone in order to get politician xp? also, can i 'hire' a mayor for like one week to lay all the structures and then take over again at the next election? plz help a n00b mayor like myself!

I'm no politican and have never even played one, but I'll bet money that most of the answers you seek can be found in the stickies.

No, it would be for THREE weeks, which is one complete voting cycle.
As for taking over the next election... maybe. But don't count on it.

Okay, question, I im having the same problem as this guy. I am a novince Politicion, and, I got 21 votes, but only recieved 750xp...
Now, how do I get the exp for every vote?

I'll answer this, just so no one whips out a flame thrower and tells you to read the stickies.
You get 750xp a week just for being a mayor. The voting xp only comes every three weeks and you'll get 300xp per vote at that time.

ok i got 27 citizens now and i'm only a novice politician so i got one more question. 27 x 300 = 8100 politician xp at the end of the three weeks. since the first tier box costs 1000 xp, does that mean that i still have an xp cap of 1500xp? does politician xp havea cap?

From the FAQ (stickied up top in the "Please Read Before Posting" thread):
Q: What is the cap on Politician experience?
A: Politician experience caps at 20x the next level with a hard cap at 60k. So at Novice Politician the cap is 20k xp, and Tier 1 the cap is 50k xp, and 60k xp at all other levels.

I will never ignore questions, but it does get frustrating to repeat the answers to questions that have already been answered many times before. Particularly when I went through all the work to assemble them in a convenient place.
