I am a mayor of a level 3 city and this week we were hoping to level to 4. But due to the city cap we did not make it.

My Question is:

I f a level 4 city falls to level 3how will SWG determine what level 3 city will move to level 4?

ooo good question! I want to know about this, cause we will make lvl 3 and want a shuttle port, but I think they are capped as well. GREAT QUESTION! 5 star for you!

It would logically go that the next city to update will get the update, no matter who's town is truly older. Since cities only actualy do any of the comparisons, withdrawls, and granting power when it updates I'd assume that they just do nothing during the downtime. So it can be a blessing or a curse that you were one of the first cities down after the patch. This is not substantiated but just the way that I see it happening. Good question indeed.

well.. this is my theory...

lets say... original 10 goes up.. but only 8 made to level 4... two stayed at level 2

but 7 new cities are born..... only 2 can go to level 4.... and lets say the last two cities also raise to level 3.. then the next in line (as in ready for update) will get it...

at least that would be the "original guess"

but I'm guessing is that the "city hall plant time" determind who gets it

It's a horserace based on update time.. which gets messed with everytime the servers come down for an update (daily)..

So, if the other cities that got down before you fail to make their nut on population that week, you have a chance to move forward. Likewise, if you miss your quota, that's another variable in the "Who gets the prize" crapshoot.

Hard not to stress over.. but I've learned you have to let it go...
