Thread: Can a banned politician win an election? Looking for Dev response.

This is an important issue, as we could lose our city if this is the case.
Our Rebel PA and City were infiltrated by an Imperial spy, and now we have three Imperial HQs and several houses in our city.
The problem I'm asking here is... the mayor of our city was banned because he was suspected of taking part in exploiting.
He's banned for 7-10 days... he's up for reelection in 6.
It's unlikely, but possible that we could be the object of a hostile takeover.
I need to find out whether or not the banned mayor will still receive all of those Encumbant Votes.

You cant bann the mayor from his city, he has taken residence in the City Hall, and therefore he is a citizen. You cant ban a citizen, hence you cant ban your mayor.

And yes he wil retain the encumbant votes, unless you have your ppl vote his ass out.

I think you misunderstood his post. The player was administratively banned by SOE. So it's a very good question, and not one that anyone who isn't SOE or has direct first-hand experience of what happens to a banned acount can answer authoritatively.
My guess is that he'll still be considered a citizen, and mayor, and will get all of the encumbent votes. Check the city status terminal though and make sure he's still listed as mayor - that, I think, will be a good indication of what to expect.

That's exactly what I mean Sevarhin.
Our best bet is to see if anyone tries to run against him, I guess. Thanks for the answers.

Yep, I see what you mean. I think he will be voted back in and you should be fine. The account is just banned, not deleted, and so he will be back online once his suspension is over. It is as if he went on vacation for a week or so. Thx for teeh clarification Sevarhin.
