What Star wars galaxies needs is a special city structure called a 'mall'. It would take 0 lots and only be allowed 1 per city. It would be dropped bya master merchant and they would reign king over it. it would have several small rooms for venders and would have multi-levels (not sure what is realistic maybe 70 rooms total).... The mall manager would have the ability to evict from this special structure. and could set policy at the control terminal such as no vender spam, or yes vender spam... He could, from the control panel, see all merchants and would be able to send a 30 dayeviction notice to empty venders or problematic venders.Could have a mall Tax as well
instead of or in conjunction with a sales tax... This would give architects another structure to build add to cities in general and stimulate commerce. The mall manager could send e-mail to "mall" and hit all the vender owners... It would provide a more consistantmallfor cities and would freefolks from the bind of a 9 lot guild hall for the purpose of a mall....The list goes on.. What does the community think about this?

This is a cool idea... a mall would be great.
This would be a "step" toward "apartment" I think another thing to add would be "rentable cube" for each tenent to place venders..
The only thing I can see that might not work is item count... so either a dev can make it "predesign" or allow certain/more furniture it would be nice.. like a bar counter, counter top and stuff like that would be cool.

I think this idea is also part of discussion at the architect board...
But still a good idea.
But still a good idea.

A mall would be GREAT. I know that the tents were supposed to give that shopping environment but they take up alot of room when your trying to plan a city in a small amount of space. Alot of cities use guildhalls or large houses for malls - these too also take up a lot of lot space (which is extremely valuable) and still look like houses and guild halls.

Sounds like folks on the architect boards, merchant boards, and politician boards are all interested... Anyway SOE can give this some priority since so many players would benefit?
